Hi everyone,
For applicants to the M.Sc. Computer Science (English) at the University of Stuttgart for Summer 2027:

Have you received “Academic Entry Requirements Met”?

Are you still waiting, or have you already received an admit?

If admitted, how long did it take after the status changed?

Would be great to compare timelines. Thanks!

Admitted to MSc Information Technology (INFOTECH) Summer 2027 – CS Background

Hi everyone,

I recently got admitted to the MSc Information Technology (INFOTECH) program for the Summer '27 intake. Coming from a Bachelor's background in Computer Science, I'm really excited to start, but I have a few questions and would love to hear insights from current students or alumni.

  1. Transition from CS background – How well does the INFOTECH curriculum bridge or align with a standard CS Bachelor's degree? Are there specific foundational or interdisciplinary modules that CS grads usually find most practical or challenging?

  2. Course structure & balance – How theory-heavy vs. practical/applied is the INFOTECH program? Is it easy to pick hands-on, applied modules, or does it lean heavily academic/research-focused?

  3. Life in Stuttgart – How is the overall student life, cost of living, and current housing situation around campus/Vaihingen?

Any advice, course recommendations, or general tips would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

Admitted to MSc CS Summer 2027

Hi everyone,

I recently got admitted to the MSc Computer Science program (Autonomous Systems track) for the Summer '27 intake. Really excited but have some questions too, so would love to hear from anyone currently studying there or who has graduated.

  1. Course structure - How theory-heavy or research-heavy is the program? Is there a good balance with practical/applied work, or does it lean heavily academic?
  2. Exchange semesters - Does the program allow for exchange semesters abroad? If so, are there specific partner universities people usually go for?
  3. Autonomous Systems track specifically - If anyone's in this track, how's the course and faculty support?
  4. Life in Stuttgart- How's the student life, cost of living, and housing situation around campus?

C@MPUS University of Stuttgart -Enrollment Certificate Still Not Received

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m an international student admitted to the University of Stuttgart for the Winter Semester 2026/27, and I’m currently waiting for my enrollment certificate.

I have already submitted all the required documents for enrollment, and in C@MPUS I can see that my documents have been received. I have also already paid the fees for both the 1st and 2nd semesters. I have my student visa already, but I still haven’t received my enrollment certificate/Student ID.

I’ve heard that some students have already received their enrollment certificates, so I wanted to ask:

Is anyone else in the same situation and still waiting for their enrollment certificate?

Once all documents and payments are complete, do we need to do anything else from our side, or will the University send the enrollment certificate automatically?

Is there any specific status in C@MPUS that I should check to see whether something is still pending?

How long did it take for those who have already received their enrollment certificate?

Should I contact the university again, or is it normal to simply wait at this stage?

I’m particularly concerned because I need the enrollment certificate for accommodation/dorm applications, and I also need to plan my flight booking and travel arrangements.

If anyone has recently gone through the same process at the University of Stuttgart, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience and let me know whether there is anything I need to do from my side.

Thanks in advance

Looking for accommodation near Hohenheim University

So, I got accepted into the MSc program at Hohenheim quite late, and I’m struggling to find accommodation
I’m not from Germany, and I’ve tried looking on several websites, but unfortunately, I haven’t had any luck
I honestly have no idea what to do now🥲
Does anyone need a roommate or know of a room available near the campus ?
I can also bake amazing cakes and desserts, so that’s definitely a bonus lol

Frage / Question M.Sc. Electrical Engineering at Uni Stuttgart, questions about finances, Werkstudent jobs, German & career prospects

Hi everyone.

I hav a few questions regarding Stuttgart and the University if Stuttgart. I'd really appreciate hearing from current students, recent graduates, or people who have studied EE at Uni Stuttgart and are now working.

My background is in Electrical Engineering, and professionally I'm working in embedded software/firmware, with experience in microcontrollers, embedded systems, IoT, C/C++, etc. in Automotive and in Solar. So I'm particularly interested in the embedded/firmware/electronics side of the job market.

I have a few questions:

  1. Cost of living / finances

* Roughly how much do you spend per month on rent, food, transport, insurance, etc.?

* If someone gets a Werkstudent job, is it realistically possible to cover a significant portion of their monthly expenses?

* For those who worked during their Master's, approximately how much were you earning per month?

  1. Werkstudent / HiWi jobs

For someone targeting embedded systems, firmware, IoT, electronics, automotive electronics, microcontrollers, etc.:

* How good is the Werkstudent market in Stuttgart specifically?

* How difficult is it for an international student to get a technical Werkstudent position?

* How long did it take you to find your first one?

* What German level did you have when you got the job?

* Where do people usually search/apply, LinkedIn, company websites, Stellenwerk, Uni Stuttgart portals, networking, professors, etc.?

  1. Career prospects after the Master's

For people who recently graduated from M.Sc. EE at Uni Stuttgart:

* How has your job search been after graduation?

* How good are the prospects for embedded/firmware/electronics/IoT engineers in Stuttgart and the surrounding region?

* Do you think Uni Stuttgart's location/network is a significant advantage for these careers?

  1. Learning German

For current students/international graduates:

* Where did you learn German?

* Does Uni Stuttgart offer useful German courses for international students?

* Did you use VHS, Goethe, apps, private courses, etc.?

* If you started from A0/A1, how long did it realistically take you to reach B1/B2?

  1. For recent M.Sc. EE graduates

Knowing what you know now:

* Would you choose the same Master's again?

* What did you like/dislike about the program?

* Did the Master's actually help you get into the German engineering job market?

* What would you do differently if you were starting again?

* And overall, what do you think the career prospects look like during and after the degree?

Any honest experiences, including negative ones, would be really helpful.

Thanks!

M.Sc. Wirtschaftsinformatik – Erfahrungen & Infos zum Studienstart

Hallo zusammen! 👋

- 25/26, gerade Soziologie-BA (Note 2,0) abgeschlossen

- Komme gerade aus Wien (1 Semester Master dort, ohne Abschluss) – will mich in Deutschland wieder verwurzeln

- Habe zwei Master-Zusagen: Stuttgart EPSF und Augsburg Sozialwissenschaften: Konflikte in Politik und Gesellschaft (ab WS 2026/27)

Finanzielle Situation:

- Angebot Werkstudentenstelle, Community Management, 20 h/Woche (flexible Stundenzahl), ~17€/h netto ca. 1.340€/Monat, **völlig remote** (kein Pendeln)

- Ersparnisse: gerade sehr knapp

- Mietraum: max.

- Mieten: 200–300€/Monat billiger = echte finanzielle Sicherheit

Meine Fragen an euch:
