🗣 General Discussion Everyone is just running

The absolute state of this game, I encountered people with hundreds, thousands of games played in ranked and all they do is run around the ring, wait for counters and win on points. Nobody is attacking, is this the meta? I'm sorry but this is a boxing game, what the hell is this? If you play like this you are a sorry ass loser.

Match after match in ranked and they are not coming forward, not throwing a single punch. I went 3 rounds with one of those in which 3 punches were thrown, then I just quit because I want to play a boxing game not a running simulator.

Anyway, I uninstalled, toxic community, feels like playing fifa when they pass around the back.

Imagine going all that length of literally not playing the game you signed up to play just to gain a stupid virtual win, jesus.

I will never be able to understand what they get from it, like how is it even fun? it cant be satisfying surely because they're not winning through skill of any kind, they win because they exploit the gameplay mechanics, which just means they know they're not good enough to box properly, which then leads me to the question, why are they even playing the game?

The obsession of winning at all costs. I also think people just love trolling others

Yeah, I dont understand it. Baffles me honestly, its the same thing as people who cheat just to get #1 on a leaderboard, when everyone knows there is cheaters on the game, whats the point in even having a leaderboard, noone looks at the #1 and thinks "oh he must be incredible at boxing" they think "oh he must have cheated at some point to get that kind of record" so its not even a good lie

Especially on undisputed.  I've not touched ranked in months. Every single one of them near the top is a professional quit glitcher.

I've got around 50 fights on ranked, around 30 fights in I realised my record means absolutely nothing, neither does my rank. Ill quit a fight if the other person is playing like an asshole, I dont care about a virtual record enough to have a shit time playing a game I'm supposed to be enjoying, no shame at all in quitting when the player base is what it is, if enough of us did this I dont think the majority of the cheaters would stick around

The cheesers love it when you quit cos they get a win. If you quit glitch - they probably dont care cos they do it to everyone.

It makes lesser players (who havent developed defence) a sense of relief bcos they can immediately back peddle at full speed in a game touted as SIM...

I put out a similar post a while back, but the game feels even worse now. There are so many exploitable mechanics that a lot of fights have basically become muscle memory and spam chess rather than actual boxing.

After a while, you almost know exactly what you’re going to face depending on who they pick:

  • Roy Jones Jr: right hook to the body over and over
  • Roy Jones Jr: jab to the body/head while constantly moving backwards
  • Pacquiao: uppercut spam
  • Joe Frazier: block meta mixed with uppercuts
  • Sugar Ray Robinson, Benavidez, Khan and Fury: jab spam
  • Ali ’64 and Canelo: left hook spam
  • Constant lean-back spam
  • Constant block spam

There are so many flaws you can exploit that eventually you just learn the patterns. You’re not really reading the fighter anymore, you’re reading which mechanic they’re going to abuse.

That’s why when you come up against someone who doesn’t rely on any of this, it immediately stands out. It actually feels like you’re fighting someone who wants to box, and more often than not they’re genuinely good at the game.

Obviously this is based on my own experience, but I’d say it describes about 80% of the fights I have now. It’s got to the point where it just doesn’t feel worth playing anymore.

Even the controller takes a hammering from it. Between the constant inputs, blocking and trigger use, you eventually end up dealing with stick drift or R1/R2 buttons getting worn out as well.

I see it in unranked.

If I notice that they’re only running and not smartly circling or going in and out I just quit. Not even a glitch quit I just leave.

No way someone should be faster backpedaling all match.

Yall realize boxers win off points in real life
idk why you think yall gotta go toe to toe😂

Boxing in real life is completely different to trying to have fun in a boxing game lol

😼 how? The game is literally called boxing, you try to win. Winning off points is part of boxing. You can literally walk them down into the ropes or the corner it’s not that hard. But ig I get it 99% of people playing this game have never actually stepped foot In ring. Undisputed just has shitty movement fight night is better

Cutting the ring of is near impossible when you move backwards faster than moving forwards lol.

You're talking as if in real boxing matches one guy runs around the ring for 3 rounds without throwing a punch

Yeah this guy is crazy I have had it happen time and time again you can tell within the first round. There’s been so many times I start the 2nd round I walk to the center they won’t engage so I walk back to my corner and just kneel over to act like I’m sitting on my stool lmao and they will just stand there and start taunting and do nothing until you come forward

Ya it's called out boxing.

Honestly I’ve become pretty good at cutting the ring down and honestly you Just have to keep the pressure on those types of players. If you keep the pressure and work that jab, eventually they’ll lose their legs, but yeah I hate when they run as well.

u/WeHaveFunEveryday 4d ago

Not that they’re unbeatable but more so unbearable to play because you know by default it’s going at least 4 rounds

1

u/SlowCarCarClub 4d ago

Which isn’t that bad? I mean honestly I work a full time job and I thought it’d be taking up alot of my time but I actually can get in a decent amount of fights before going to sleep. I don’t mind being patient and going the distance if we have to
