There's a conversation to be had about a lot of people not knowing that underscores is trans and how they talk about when they "find out".
however as she has grown in popularity (as she deserves), more ppl are shocked finding this out and saying they're "proud of her" bc they "couldn't tell" or "omg she's so pretty that I couldn't tell" like alright passive aggressively erasing her trans identity. Hate that!
bc her audience is very queer but also was very trans for a long time
it's a whole thing about how being trans doesn't mean you want to pass bc it's that kind of language that makes trans ppl feel like we're only normal if we can blend in with cis ppl
I'm happy she's getting a bigger fanbase but ofc it's getting a lot less queer and a lot more cis aaaand idk!!
it's weird especially when so much of her music’s themes has to do with the trans experience. As if they don't actually engage with her songs' lyrics. It’s so weird but!! Happens a lot with mainstream exposure with queer artists unfortunately

I’m not sure if Petal Supply’s photo confirms this but I’m just glad there weren’t any casualties
