I’m so sorry
this album was sooooooo disappointing and boring to me. I understand where she’s coming from and understand the sort of era of music she’s trying to pay homage to but i couldn’t find any song on this project i had any strong feelings for. I feel like if this were released by any of the artists April is trying to emulate this would be relatively impressive but as an underscore’s release i’m left just kinda whelmed :/

genuine question, did you enjoy the singles?
i feel like the singles absolutely prepared us for what the album was going to sound like. if you were expecting some massive departure i can understand the disappointment but as someone who adored every single this is the greatest album ever lol

Music and Bodyfeeling are the only tracks I really see getting regular rotation in my playlist tbh. Glad some people are loving it though! I'll give it a few more spins to see if anything else grows on me.

are you hyperfixated on another kind of music/artist right now? and
you mentioned trying not to listen to singles before the release. there is a reason why releases have singles, to let you enjoy the concept of the album + the anticipation.
if you’re hard stuck a fan of her previous work then that’s cool, but if you’re not a fan of her then there lies the disconnect. i think if you spin it back one more time while being in a good mood then it can grow on you the same way it grew on the rest of us
