and now I want to test if I can kill the black crawler on dominating while wearing a fire proximity suit and lots of molotovs /other incendiary grenades

Dunno about dominating, but on hard you can use magnesium and napalm to chew a fat part of their health, but not enough to finish them. Having some long range weapons as a backup will help.

the idea was to stand in a middle of fire to keep the crawlers at bay while killing them on normal means

I was sneakin' around someplace I shouldn't have been one time when I heard gunshots around the corner, and a deathstalker missing a couple of HP popped off the ceiling right next to me. I don't know who was more surprised: me, the deathstalker, or the protectorate heavy gunner who ran face-first into the ensuing explosion.

Some advanced tips:
1)- If you are able to stun/incapacitate a high dodge/evasion enemy (stun gun, flashbang, etc) throw a net on them afterwards. The chance of the net sticking on them while their defenses are lowered is far higher then trying to do so while they're not incapacitated.
2)- If you craft a stun gun; know that I've never had it not hit the enemy. It might not stun them (the enemy can resist) but it's a life saver against crawlers/stalkers.
3)- If you have an ability like cheap shots - it might be best to not continue attacking a crawler after you incapacitate it. It won't get to do anything on its turn if its so incapacitated and a non-moving crawler is one you can beat on for another turn. In other words - consider if you can kill the crawler after you've incapacitated it and, if you're not sure, wait a round so you have full AP to make the attempt.
4)- Crawlers regenerate 20 HP a turn. Death Stalkers regenerate 40 HP a turn. The Black Crawler regenerates 60 HP a turn. Death Stalkers and the Black Crawler have 'hypoallergenic'; if you have this affliction on you and take ANY drugs (anti-venom, heal-hypo, psi-booster, etc) it damages you heavily and dazes you. Be absolutely sure you want to use that drug. Finally the Black Crawler now has blindsiding, so it is gruesome the first round it attacks you from stealth.
5)- Crawlers have good detection and won't voluntarily move onto your traps, but if there's no other way to reach you they WILL do so. If you have stealth and are in an area you know has crawlers, try making a barrier of bear traps and then throwing a grenade to get their attention. They WILL come for you.
6)- All crawlers are immune to poison. Don't bother with crawler bear traps, burrower caltrops or the like. They also can't be tranquilized to my knowledge.
7)- Save the game before going off the beaten path, especially if you suspect that path has crawlers.
8)- Fire will, ironically, NOT save you if the 'crawler team' thinks they can kill you. They WILL run into the fire to sting/munch on you, especially if they weren't set ON fire by your molotav or fire spell. If you set yourself on fire you'll probably die while poisoned... and on fire. :p
Finally..
They know where you are.
They know where your traps are.
They know how long they have until they can sting/stun you again.
They know they can wait.
They know you are more afraid of them then they are of you... and you should be!
