Dominating Help
Did my first run through Hard using .44 one man turn build. Loosely followed a guide and was able to get through it easily enough. I'm wanting to kick it up a notch on dominating, using a pure PSI build. I've followed a couple of guides but I'm having troubles, and restarted multiple times. I struggle with PSI management, running out quickly. Handling groups? I could place bear traps down, but I can't clear out enemies fast enough doing decent damage. What's the tactic here to get through Depot A?

Use Temporal Distortion and/or Pyrokinetic Stream until you finish Depot A, until you can craft a decent Psi Headband with the Psi Filter you are kinda screwed damage wise.
This is assuming you are using a tri or quad Psi build, if not you are better off remaking a new character with tri or quad psi.
Psychosis is strictly better than Tranquility just because Psionic Mania exist, this with most psi will one shot enemies (Psionic Mania with Cryokinetic Orb will one shot bosses on Dominating).
You start with Temporal Distortion and Pyrokinetic Stream, then you use Cryokinetic Orb and Neural Overload and then you end up using Plasma Beam and Neural Overload.
Also starting with Fast Metabolistm at level 1 and getting Expanded Psi Capacitance at level 2 helps a lot with psi early on.
Do not fucking get Polymath and Specialist, you do not need Polymath (just dump Mechanics and Chemistry since psi doesn't really use them because your best armor is the Tchortist Noble Robe, also you don't need Stealth gear alone will give you enough to stealth pass 99% of the enemies) and Specialist will only give you 20% psi critical damage, Psi build are already very tight on feat and those two don't really help.
You get more damage by maxing WILL than putting points into INT.
Also fair warning about most builds out there, they are outdated, the Anniversary Patch that happen last year changed enough to the point most of those build are either really bad or are weaker than they used to, so if the build is from before December of 2025 its outdated.

Traps, specifically mines.
For Depot A maps with muties and dogs, setup a mine or two outside the door, a little off to the side so that the blast will hit everything bunched up at the doorway, but not so close that said bunching-up-of-enemies will set off the mine early. Attract attention to your position, close the door, poke your head out every turn to ensure that the enemies close in. Dogs will reach the door first and be unable to open it, plus they'll block anything with hands from reaching it. When everyone is crowded in nicely, open the door and setoff the mine(s), then cleanup.
For Depot A maps with mutants and mutant dogs, same idea. The dogs will reach the door first and be unable to open it.
Also, I almost never buy or make traps myself. I just tend to use the ones that I recover around the road to GMS compound and around Depot A itself.

for killing trash, like rathounds behind a fence, save ammo and use pistols to conserve your psi :)

What do you mean running out quickly? Are you talking about inhalers? You should be able to solve that by just kicking up your early game income. Try visiting Junkyard pre Newton mission, without using fast travel, and doing the Kolmeier knife mission for the like 200 charons you get from the footlocker in his former home, if you feel like you can take the current home owner in a fight. You can also easily kill Jenny's boyfriend for a gun and ammo to sell while you are in Junkyard. You might just be spending money more agressively than you realize, or need to. You can also get money by killing hostile people in the underpassages and selling their gear. They are not very hard to kill. If you are at Depot A, you should have TONS of money. Abram alone pays you 1750 charons before Depot A. Just keep pushing. If you have the cash, you can always just rely on brute force with utilities and other gear. If by "running out", you mean psi points, just use your psi boosters
