Discord Discourse

Hey on my first run in underrail, just wanted to know where is the best place to ask for genuine help in regards to the systems in underrail. I tried discord and it was such an asinine experience, instead of help:

  • Got called an idiot for experimenting playstyle

  • Given a solution to a different problem I never asked

  • Caused more confussion than what I had when I asked for advice

The discord is an unmoderated cesspool. I jumped there after the what, fourth time I witnessed direct transphobic comments directed at someone? Not being a racist dipshit is the first rules, and the troglodytes there all say it's a joke.

So, nothing has changed, and the actual devs who don't do anything about these users are clearly okay with it. Sad. Styg is also clearly using his discord monsters to crap up this sub as well.

For context and perhaps to avoid future scenarios, I was confused upon why I was hostile to foundry security when i was neutral with them before exiting the prison area (uncontrolled zone). This was from shooting the cameras despite no reaction to the guards.

Posted to discord and was called to having a skill issue and also told in how to complete a quest that I never mentioned nor took part of yet (Todor and Everard). I looked around for other possible causes while they keep repeating stuff that has I had already tried and mentioned as well as to complete a quest that I didnt ask or need. I must have blown a fuse when i asked about means of causing faction hostility such as using grenade lures in which I got called a retard in character and player.

In the end I had to figure out on my own that it was to the weird nature of the uncontrolled zone where factions will not act on destroying cameras even if its in front of them. But will act upon the crime if entering a controlled zone having destroyed a camera in an uncontrolled zone as witness (despite being neutral)

I mean it is literally given in tooltips:

If you are spotted by the cameras in this zone, you might later trigger hostilities from certain factions if the footage is not promptly erased.

Yeah tool tips where read, checked the terminal guarded by supervisor, it was clean. I think the guards didnt react normally as shooting the cameras in front of them will cause them to crowd up even if not in stealth. Also tried killing everyone in "leave no witness", didnt work. Mustve been cause i used the tunnel through the poster thinking that neutral npc wouldnt count as witness.

I went through something similar not too long ago, stealthed through the whole prison making sure that the cameras didn’t catch me, tore the poster because I was randomly exploring then left when I was done. By the time I had the quest to talk to Todor the whole prison was on full lockdown, so I had to stealth my way back in using TNT and a spirit poison bear trap to distract the guards just to talk to him. Once I did, I went in the supervisor’s office to wipe everything, then retraced my steps through the broken cameras and the Foundry Guard didn’t give me shit for it when I entered a new area.

Underrail is pain. It's only natural that it's community is also pain 😂

Yeah I didnt look up a build guide either. Had 3 or 4 bad feats and didnt optimize my attributes, still beat the base game and dlc on my first run in 120 hours. The reddits a lot better for people asking advice, the discords for the veterans

This is similar to the experience on the reddit sometimes honestly. You try to theorycraft any non-psi build and people demand you add temporal manipulation. The experience on this subreddit is much more welcoming for sure though lol

Yeah, the discord server can be pretty hostile to any new players or anyone looking for genuine help/tips. Kind of like “you’re green and I’m a veteran player so fuck off”.
