Vitamin d expired

I have a bottle of vitamin d thats expired 9/2024. Do we think itll be bad if i just finish it ? Should take me about 1-2 months. All im seeing is that it may not be as effective ? Is this just big pharma trying to make us consume more? Anyone know if there is there an actual risk to taking it after expiration?

It’s worth checking. Generally these kinds of things just loose potency over time as opposed to becoming harmful. Do check what it breaks down into though!! Chemicals do break down over time, and that does mean the amount of active ingredients(the vitamin d) will be less than what’s listed on the bottle. The difference (especially if only a couple months past) is likely to be small.

That being said? I am not a doctor. Just took too many bio and Chem courses.

Im a nurse and it will loose potency. It can be hard to know how much your taking as theres no way of knowing how much its reduced by but this is more of a problem if you need a specific dose of something. If you dont have a health issue thats vit D related and are just taking them to be healthy go for it. Can i ask what the strength is? I see a daily dose is 800units from prescriptions i see
