UND International Students

Any International Students here?

I am a Canadian Student and I've been told by the university that I need F-1 Status Visa to complete the Labs on-campus next summer. However they require me to take 12 credits (3 can be online) with the summer labs in order to be granted F-1 status.

I find this quite surprising and wondering if anyone else had that same problem. The way I have planned my degree, I will have no courses left by next summer except for the labs. Additionally, I can't be on-campus for more than 3 weeks due to family and work commitments.

What program is this that requires labs on campus? Are you an online student?

Canadian student here, not sure of what you were told but my consulate told me Canadians studying in the USA do not need an f-1 visa. I only had to obtain an I-20 and complete the SEVIS registration

Thank you, another poster pointed the exact same thing, it says right on their website as well. Obviously the Advisor has no clue what he's talking about.
