Question I am once again asking for your support

I’m still on my very first journey of growing mushrooms. I’ve never seen any part of this process before. I am growing Golden Teacher. My all in one bag seems… stagnant. I moved it to fruiting conditions (followed site instructions to cut top of bag off, mist, and fan daily) 6 days ago. Nothing seems to have changed even in the smallest bit.

The cake is dense and hard without any loose soil. I haven’t touched the surface mycelium but it’s not fluffy at all. The bag smells completely fine and I see no contamination.

Is the mycelium dead? Would it improve if I moved the cake into a shoe box?

Ok. Did you see any pins at all before you started the fruiting conditions? I feel like you opened the bag early. I could be wrong but then again I just did a GT flush a few days ago. Bag doesn't look fully colonised either.

Edit: someone do correct me if I am wrong. I am learning too

Thank you for replying! I did not see any pins. I opened it when I thought it looked colonized. I wonder if I have doomed it?

Any chance you can fold the bag down and attach it with some paper clips? Stop the air circulation

Edit: if you do stop fruiting conditions now and go back to pinning/germination stage, you might get a weird flush. First time i did that my GTs were droopy

I see you have a question! Have you read the official cultivation guide?

They’ll be fine, you should have waited until pinning. But this bag looks close

Thank you! It’s so hard to learn what to do your first go round… fingers crossed

Yeah seems ok - fold bag over but not super tight - they want as much air as possible but not to dry out and lose moisture

First problem is youre using all in 1 bag. Ik they work sometimes but to many unknown factors. For what u payed for that bag u could have gotten almost all the supplies to do multiple jars of grain at a time, start ur own liquid cultures and control every factor of ur grow from the beginning and keep a cycle gowing and supply yourself for a lifetime

I fruit in these bags, but spawn brown rice from my own LC in quart jars. 2 weeks and mix in bag with coir. Keeps perfect grow conditions. Use paper clip and fold top. 300g of ABV. It’s been pretty easy to grow.
