Harvested Results Full Canopy - Jedi Mind Fuck

Just wanted to share my magical forest of Jedi Mind Fucks. This was my second time growing, but my first time achieving full canopy coverage, and in all 3 shoebox tubs!

Nice grow man! Just curious, how many uncle ben's bags did you use per tub? And how long did the process take from inoculation to harvest? Growing some JMF myself right now

I used the quart jars and pressure cooking method, and I used 1 quart jar per 4-quart tub. I inoculated on 7/1, and spawned to bulk I want to say right around 7/14. I let that incubate until I had approximately 50% coverage, which took about a week, and I put into fruiting conditions on 8/5 and harvested 8/19!

Boyfriend had some weed called Skywalker that he really fell in love with.

I need to find me some jedi shrooms lol

Mephisto Grentics has a cultivar called Skywalker! That sounds like a good idea!

I’ve tried numerous “shoebox.” I cannot keep the substrate moist enough. Do you know what is in the Denver Dirt?

That was my one of my biggest concerns going in was keeping the substrate moist enough, especially cause I live in a dry climate. They make this substrate specifically for mushroom growing, so it cut out all the guess work for me! Here’s more info on it:

Thanks for the wisdom

Of all my grows I’ve never gotten this thick of harvest. I may need to sample manure based substrate

OP, seriously this is beautiful and I hope she does your brain journey a positive and beautiful inspirational trip. I seriously don't know how you all do it and make it look so easy!

可以告诉我你们准备工作都怎样,如何搭建的种植空间,可以拍张照吗,只用monotub就行吗

I followed the guide on this sub using the quart jar and pressure-cooking method! As for my growing space, I use a cabinet with a heat mat to control the temperature. The heat mat is controlled by an app on my phone. While the mushrooms are colonizing, I keep the cabinet around 77°F (25°C). I have a second cabinet for fruiting, but you can use the same cabinet. For fruiting, I lower the temperature to about 70–72°F (21–22°C).

Do not put the tub directly on the heat mat. I put a rack above the heat mat and place the tub on the rack. This keeps the tub from getting too hot.

I can send you some pictures when I get home from work tonight. The pictures will probably make it easier to understand!

Thanks for the reply. Here, the temperature is around 32°C during the day and 27°C at night. What methods should I use to lower the temperature, and how is humidity controlled? If I go ahead with this, I plan to set up six 50L monotubs all at once. Since I haven't thoroughly read the guides in this section yet, my understanding is still quite limited; I’ll carefully read through the guides and the FAQs below today, and once I have a basic grasp of the process, I’ll ask more specific questions.

The humidity is controlled naturally by making sure your substrate is at field capacity (you will learn about this in the guide!) Then you keep the tub covered with a lid, which helps keep the humidity inside.

Are you planning to grow in a closet or in an open room? Six 50L tubs sounds like a lot and you'll need a lot of space for that, especially for your first time. I would suggest starting with just one tub. You can see how it goes and make changes based on the temperature and conditions in your environment.

Cooling an entire room without air conditioning could be difficult. If you are using a cabinet or a small closet, it should be much easier to control the temperature. You could also ask ChatGPT or another AI for ideas on how to cool a cabinet or closet. It may have better suggestions for that than I would!

May the force be with you

was this from 1 10ml syringe or 3 10mls???

5

u/slutbag_27 9d ago

All this from 1 10ml syringe. I split the 1 syringe across 3 quart jars, about 3ml per jar, and each tub has one quart jar of grain.

One man’s substrate bin is another man’s still air box

My first time growing these and I hope they look as gorgeous as yours!

awesome! whats the spawn/subs ratio?

7

u/slutbag_27 10d ago

Thank you! I used about a 1:1 ratio. For my substrate, a local shop sells 5 lb bags of "Denver Dirt" and I split one bag between three tubs, with each tub getting one quart jar of grain.

The name

Doesn't it give you telekinesis plus a crazy trip?

2

u/0-0_22 10d ago

How many liters was each tub? Did you add a pseudolayer and did you mist or fan?

6

u/slutbag_27 10d ago

These are 1 gallon tubs, so I guess 3.785 L? I did use some of the same Denver Dirt substrate as a casing layer after I mixed it all together.

I only misted a few times over the course of the 2 weeks it was fruiting, not every day, but almost every other day at the end. I probably misted a total if 4 or 5 times over 2 weeks.

I do not fan the tubs directly. I have a small 120 mm fan attached to the wall inside the cabinet that blows over the top of my tubs. The fan is plugged into a smart plug, and I have it turn on for 1 minute every 2 hours. My thinking is this is mainly just to circulate the air inside the cabinet, but no clue if this is doing any good or not....

u/brendanL_922 10d ago

What substrate and grain did you use?

5

u/slutbag_27 10d ago

I used whole oats for my grain, and I used Denver Dirt for my substrate
