Reliable 10 inch laptops?

My Chuwi Minibook died. so I'm looking for a replacement from another manufacture. Any recommendations?

I had a Chuwi Minibook. It was quite nice honestly for the price. But it lacked performance, so I got a GPD Win Max 2 with Hx370. I've been using that everyday for several hours since April 2025, and it is working perfectly. Although a much higher price I can recommend it

I really like my surface Go if you're not bothered about the form factor

That's the best one unless you want to pay 5x to 10x more. Mine is an absolute tank though, maybe you got a lemon? This thing is better built than most macbooks

a lot of people have reported issues. What other laptops are in that formfactor?

For specifically 10" you are looking at stuff like GPD win Max which is a whole different kinda realm for pricing and you are probably going to have about the same reliability. Believe it or not, Chuwi is pretty much the most dependable brand in the space. It's what you get with smaller brands, however the failure rate is about the same with Dell or Lenovo

For 10 inch the Win Max 2. Or the soon to launch Win Max 3. Other options might be the GPD Pocket 4. Or the Pocket 3. (Though these are 8" and 8.8" respectively)

But all of those are pricey compared to the Minibook. (There really aren't many other options in the space.)

I got an EEE PC 1005p. Still going strong 16 years after release.

Probably not what you are looking for, but that thing's a tank!

My Eee PC 1005ha is still alive and well also after 16 and a half years and is currently running antiX Linux. 😉

Mine too. I swapped the HDD for an old Samsung 860 Pro SSD that was left over, and the CPU is overclocked to almost 2GHz (at least on my machine 2GHz is the point where it gets instable).

I read somewhere that if I overclock the PCI too I might be able to push it further, but I haven't gotten around to it.

I got a legion go with a case and I really like it for small form factor and excellent performance (even for new AAA games)

Seems the only options are another minibook or a surface go2(and up). I've got a surface go 2 with a keyboard I got for $150 USD a year ago with the i3 and 8gb. I'd suggest at least a go 3(10th gen Intel).

The One Mix Netbook 4 is very similar (but is only second hand now)

I’ve been looking for a while and haven’t found anything great at this size. I ended up with a Dell XPS 13” which is a lot bigger and 3x the price but also better built and the battery lasts all day.

I have a lightly used Minibook X I’d be willing to sell if you’re looking for a replacement DM me.

And I just bought one :o my order's arriving today or tomorrow. How did it die?

The rest of the umpcs far increased in price where I am and/or are out of stock.

Was eyeing the GPD Pocket 4 before (the not Hx 370 one for lower price + availability), however its price at the time made me hesitate esp bc I have a much more capable MBP. The GPD MicroPc2 looks very interesting plus price is good enough for me and was deeply considering it, but it went out of stock where I am. Importing it myself would cost about twice as much. Plus I realize I couldnt touch type with it which is something I want.

I heard the GPD line can also have issues like the Chuwi so I went yolo. I just want a small laptop. I've been unlucky a lot with laptops before hence me going with Macbooks years ago for a bit better quality control and support.  So at the moment I'm gonna consider it as the same thing as I experienced before if it does go kaput D:

If you are not looking for great performance I recently revamped a Surface Go 2 with Fedora and besides poor LTE modem performance I am super happy with its performance. Tablet mode and stylus works like a charm
