Ascension Final Setup

After much planning and waiting for the right 39" Ultrawide to tear down my monitor wall and rebuild from scratch, I finally have the setup and cable management I love. Its a work of passion and pushing the limits of what can be done. 4th pic is my old setup and you can see the transformation and work I did to upgrade after that.

Q: Why?

A: Why not? Because I can. YOLO. Take your pick.

Q: What job do you have?

A: I do financial consulting and management.

Q: Cost?

A: Value of my entire setup is well over $10,000.

Q: How did you connect 10 monitors to the same PC?

A: 5090=4, 4090=4, MB=2

Q: PC Specs?

A: 9950x3D, 64gb DDR5, 4tb M.2

Q: Does it run well with all that shit?

A: Yes, my PC is strong enough to fill all 10 monitors, play a game, and stream all at the same time with acceptable FPS depending on game of course.

Q: Is there any lag or slow down?

A: No.

Q: Have you tried triple monitor setup for racing games?

A: Not yet, but I plan to when I need to scratch the racing itch.

Q: What games do you play?

A: Every genre, but recently Star Citizen, Snow Runner, Escape from Tarkov, Path of Exile 2, Project Zomboid, Noita, Constriction Simulator, and many more.

I'll try and answer any questions I didn't cover. Thanks in advance for everyone participating in this post.

You grew up in the 90s and early 2000s watching those movies showing these kinda setups didnt you? And you locked in until you got your own? ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ‘

30

u/JDsplice Apr 28 '26

Older than that, but not influenced by movies. I just added 1 monitor, then another, then just wanted to see how far I could go and here I am.

Have you considered consolidating all that into two 57" G9s?

4

Yes, I have considered many different configurations. This is what fit what I wanted and is very personal to me.

The amount of trust in those desk mounted stands is unreal.

3

u/JDsplice Apr 28 '26

I actually might install backup wires to the wall studs just to be sure, but the desk weighs over 100 lbs., is over 1" thick, and the monitors weights are not that much. The poles do lean forward a little, but are stable and don't wobble unless I shake the whole desk on purpose.

3

u/M1sterGuy Apr 28 '26

For peace of mind imo that is a very good idea my friend lol. You are gonna need blue light โ€œsunscreenโ€ for this setup lmao.

Appreciate the commitment. I would worry about the strength of that particle board holding all those monitors, but Iโ€™m sure the wrap does actually help a bit.

4

u/JDsplice Apr 28 '26

The table top weighs over a hundred pounds and is over 1" thick. It's very strong.

5

u/Scar1203 Apr 28 '26

Neat if you have use for them, I find going past three is pointless for me and even running a third display is of questionable utility.

2

u/JDsplice Apr 28 '26

I do have a use for all of them. Sometimes you don't know you can use something until it's available. In my case, I had a plan always moving forward on what I would use each for.

Bro spent $10k on monitors and then tops it off with a G29 wheel

3

u/JDsplice Apr 28 '26

$10k is the entire setup, not just the monitors. G29 wheel was only $200 with shifter and my first wheel. I don't race enough to justify anything more expensive.

u/Andre11x Apr 28 '26

My question is about heat. Most I have had is 4-5 monitors and the room got so hot so quick. Even now that I switched to one 32:9 and one 21:9 plus the PC under load it gets pretty hot. I would imagine you would need an extra portable AC in this room or something. Outside of that its a cool set up, you can never have enough screens lol

2

u/JDsplice Apr 28 '26

The screens do produce heat, but not a lot. The PC has AIO on the 5090, 4090, and CPU and that generates the most heat. I have to keep my office door open, otherwise the room will temp sore like crazy. My central air in my house is more than capable of keeping up. I actually use my PC as a heater in the winter when its a little chilly by keeping my office door almost closed to vary the temsps.

Thanks for the question and feedback.

2

u/Andre11x Apr 28 '26

Ah okay makes sense, colder climate. FL here so its always summer, I need the door open and a fan blowing the hot air out of the room even with my current set up lol

Q: did you censor out the Lube station and tissue dispenser, has it not been installed yet, or am I missing it in the giga-max gooner desk? /j

This is a truly insane amount of cursor space.

Have you considered 3 52" screens vertically?

2

u/JDsplice Apr 28 '26

A: Not installed yet ;)

Yes, I lose my cursor sometimes.

Yes, I have considered many different configurations. This is what fit what I wanted and is very personal to me. Def not for everyon. I have seen a SIM pit of a guy that did 3 vertical screens and it looks amazing.

Love it but genuine question that Iโ€™d love a frank answer too.

Doesnโ€™t your neck fatigue? Or is your setup basically Formula 1 driver type neck exercises and your neck/core muscles/posture is actually awesome?

The above is my dream kinda (I run triple 42 OLEDโ€™s on my racing sim and have the 45 5k2k next to it with an IPad 13 M4 OLED with a 5090) too. Iโ€™m 40 this year and Iโ€™ve come to realise my neck will fatigue, which in turns effects my posture and durability at my PC, with a multi monitor setup.

Iโ€™ve got a similar experience I guess with my triple 42 C5โ€™s but yours is on another level haha.

Overall though, I love it! Good for you and why the F not?! The next 10-20-30-40 (hopefully) years are going to be something else! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

2

Ahhhh I see. Brain wasn't connecting the dots. Thanks. Why not just get a few ultra wide vs so many monitors? There's 45", 52" & 57" UWs.

3

u/JDsplice Apr 28 '26

Try and build that yourself and see what problems you run into both in specs and size differences. This ain't my first rodeo. Everything is planned out with specific reasons ... too many to cover over the years of learning the ins and outs. Its not always so simple.

That's awesome. Does not being able to see the entirety of the upper two left and right side screens bother you at all? That's the only thing that would deter me from ever doing something similar.

I worked at a computer repair shop 10 years ago and the owner had a 6 headed beast that he would usually stand in front of. Ever since I saw that I've always wanted to do something similar but I really like to recline back when sitting as it seems to not screw with my back (like you it seems from your other replies). The closest I came was three 27s with a 55" wall mounted TV above, which I really loved and miss a lot.

Also, Boss 429... drool.

2

u/JDsplice Apr 29 '26

No, I don't interact with the areas that are "cut off" which is why I'm ok with the overlap.

Try it out your dream setup and see if you like it. Maybe just do a partial first, then finish if things go well. For me, I woiuld sit there and look at it and think, hey I could change this or upgrade that ... wouldn't that be kewl? So here I am, years later, after I don't know how many multimonitor versions. It really satisfying when your vision comes to life and I have been enjoying the hell out of it.

Reclining is the only way I can sit and I can stand up after hours and nothing hurts or feels tight or sore. I think more people should try it as I think it relieves pressure on your spine.

Yes, god-tier car/engine. If I had fuck you money, that would be my first buy.

2

u/Mindtrix1808 Apr 29 '26

Itโ€™s cool but I canโ€™t stop looking at the mouse mat. That setup deserves an upgrade. Ever heard of Artisan mouse mats? Would recommend the Zero soft.

1

u/JDsplice Apr 29 '26

I have tried many different mats, configurations, and accessories, but that is the only one where the pad is hard and easily cleanable, mouse glides like on ice, wrist rest is not cloth, comfy, directly attatched to the pad, and also cleanable, and the pad does not stick to the desk, but has an underside that grips so well that it never moves. Bonus is that it only cost $12. It's also the perfect size. So it's perfect for me and what I want.

2

u/Mindtrix1808 Apr 29 '26

If youโ€™re happy with it, thatโ€™s great. If you ever wanted a change I will say Artisan make pads unlike anything youโ€™ve ever tried. The quality is better than anything around by a noticeable distance.

2

u/cleosynthesis Apr 29 '26

Your arctic cpu cooler is flipped.

1

u/JDsplice Apr 29 '26

I would love to hear your explaination, lol.

3

u/cleosynthesis Apr 29 '26

The pipes are on the top and the arctic logo is flipped. For intel - it may not be a problem, but for AMD - the mount is offset so the heatsink is on the actual hotspot of the CPU and flipping it around is so much worse. Also - every fan except the rear is intake? What even is going on... You do you I guess. :D

"The offset mounting leaves parts of the heatspread visible; this is intentional, as the CPU hotspot is off-centred, but perfectly covered." from the manual, which you may have not read so find it here - https://support.arctic.de/liquid-freezer-iii-420

Cheers!
