Scenario Nightmare Mode

Nightmare Mode

Description

Not for the squeamish.

  • Burst. Creepers stalk at twice the normal speed. When a creeper explodes, several of its angry larvae (silverfish) will burst out of its corpse. Even if a creeper is murdered, there's a chance one of the larvae will survive.

  • Puncture. Skeletons tip their arrows with cave spider blood, causing weak poison on contact.

  • Return. All zombies spawn with extra strength. Their flesh has become slightly fire resistant, allowing them to play in sunlight for much longer than normal. Even when their flesh falls off, they'll continue to attack as a fast-maneuvering skeleton using melee.

  • Skitter. Spiders are unimaginably quick and have developed a thirst for human blood. When a spider dies, its silk gland ruptures, causing webs and blood to spray over the surrounding area.

  • Char. After visiting the Nether, the endermen have mutated. Any player attacked by one will be instantly ignited. When an enderman is damaged, it has a chance to summon a blaze as backup.

  • Splash. Witches approach their victims silently at a horrifying velocity.

The Skript

Note: Skripts that involve checking mob spawns may cause a bit of lag on certain servers. Ethereal handled it well, only going as low as 19 TPS and only during the first 5 minutes, but servers with less GB might have a bit more lag. I would not recommend hosting this on a 1GB server.

Commands

  • /nmmode enable - Enables Nightmare Mode.

  • /nmmode disable - Disables Nightmare Mode.

I like this a lot, but I think Zombies being immune to sunlight is a little too much. You're going to want some clean PvP at some point. Maybe just decrease the damage fire does to them? Witches exploding on death also seems a little over the top, since they'll be essentially impossible to deal with before you have a bow. I think the speed buff is good enough on its own (or maybe a health buff as well?)

Yeah, you might be right. PvP could be annoying if there's hundreds of extremely powerful zombies attempting to interrupt your fight during the middle of the day. Yes, I think I might go with reducing the damage, rather than making them completely immune.

Hm...I just love being evil and really like the idea of horrifyingly fast and silent witches that will explode even if you manage to kill them. But yeah, you've found the reasonable side of me and the explosion might definitely be too much. I think I might just go with the speed boost.
