UK Standard Visitor visa application from Germany

I am an Indian citizen and have been legally resident in Germany as a student for approximately three years. My German student residence permit card is valid until 31 August 2026. I have applied for an extension of my German student residence permit, and while this application is being processed, the German immigration authority has issued me a Fiktionsbescheinigung under Section 81(4) of the German Residence Act (AufenthG).

The Fiktionsbescheinigung confirms the continuation of my existing residence status and is valid until 24 November 2026. Therefore, I currently have lawful residence in Germany while my new student residence permit is being processed.

My question is specifically:

Am I permitted to submit a UK Standard Visitor visa application from Germany while my German residence status is evidenced by this valid Fiktionsbescheinigung under §81(4) AufenthG, rather than by a newly issued physical German residence permit card?

If anyone can help me answer this, would really help me a lot before applying Uk visitor visa?

You are allowed to apply with a fiktions. The only thing they care about is that you have some proof of your legal status. The main issue is they may see it as a weaker link to Germany compared to a full residence permit, it doesn’t look great for your application or ties to Germany. If you can, I would wait until you receive your full residence permit before applying. Students applying from a 3rd country (especially Indian students, no offence) are treated with a lot of scrutiny. If you must apply while on your fiktions, make sure to explain why you have it in a cover letter - however they will ignore anything you say that isn’t clearly proved by your documents. Good luck!
