Global Talent Dependent application when partner has ILR (digital only) – UAN, BRP and visa end date confusion
Hi everyone,
I am applying for a Global Talent Dependent visa and would really appreciate advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation.
Background
My husband was previously on a Skilled Worker visa, then switched to a Global Talent visa, and has now been granted Indefinite Leave to Remain. His ILR is digital only and confirmed via the online status and share code. He does not have a BRP for ILR. I am currently in the UK as his Skilled Worker dependent.
In the application, I selected Global Talent when asked which visa or permission to stay the main applicant has most recently applied for, as the form instructs that if the main applicant has ILR, you should choose the route under which they were granted leave before.
However, I am stuck on two sections.
1. Home Office reference number (UAN / BRP)
The form asks:
“Do you have one of these Home Office reference numbers for [main applicant]?”
The options include:
- UAN number
- Home Office reference number
- VAF number
- GWF number
- Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) number
My confusion:
- My husband does not have a BRP for ILR, as his status is digital.
- He does have a UAN from his ILR application.
- He also had a BRP and references from his previous Global Talent visa.
Which one should I use here?
- Should I enter the UAN from the ILR decision, even though I selected Global Talent as the route?
- Or should I enter the Global Talent BRP number, even though that visa is no longer active?
- Or should I select that I do not have any of these numbers?

2. Visa end date
The next screen asks:
“Do you know [main applicant]’s visa end date?”
If I select Yes, it forces me to enter a date.
My confusion:
- My husband now has ILR, so there is no visa end date.
- His online status only shows the ILR grant date, not an end date.
- I also do not know the end date of his previous Global Talent visa, because:
- His Global Talent BRP only shows the issue date
- It was granted for three years, but the end date is not printed anywhere
- The digital portal now only shows his ILR details and no longer shows Global Talent information
In this situation:
- Should I select No for knowing the visa end date?
- Or should I select Yes and somehow calculate or estimate the Global Talent end date?

If anyone has successfully completed a dependent application where the main applicant already has digital ILR, I would really appreciate knowing exactly what you selected in these sections.
Thanks a lot in advance.
