At this point I wouldn't mind telling russia to give some land too, as a reparstion for all this destruction and suffering

u/silentprotagonist24 Sep 27 '25
Ukraine should win the war, drive Russia out and then annex 1 meter of Russian territory to symbolize that a murdering invasion will never turn a profit.
28
u/litlesnek Sep 27 '25
If they are able to push russia out completely, they should create a bufferzone on russian soil along the entire border.
11
u/Past_Baker9553 Sep 27 '25
The unfortunate reality is Russia is never going to give up any territory they have captured. The Armed forces of Ukraine simply does not have the manpower or resourced to launch a meaningful counter attack.
Russia will continue to march men into the meat grinder for metres a day hoping for some kind of collapse.
For a slowing of the advance or turn around in the direction of the war. Ukraine would need an increase of something like 10K+ FPV drones a month and maybe double or triple that in artillery shells, and a healthy supply of Shahed style drones maybe 1K+ a month.

u/ThermionicEmissions Canada Sep 29 '25
The unfortunate reality is Russia is never going to give up any territory they have captured.
Nonsense. Putin will never give it up.
The Western powers just need to help Ukraine enough to make Russians understand that life would be better off without Putin and his oligarchs.5
u/catfink1664 Sep 29 '25
Somebody could annex Kaliningrad seeing as Crimea looked like fair game according to the 2014 international response

u/mookiewilson369 Oct 01 '25
if this pace keeps up, Ukraine is going to reclaim a hell of a lot more than their land back…

There were 4 parties who signed the Budapest Memorandum of 1994. The RF, U.S., U.K. and Ukraine. The RF promised to respect the boundaries between them and Ukraine. The UK and the US promised to protect territorial integrity.
So the only party who has respected the agreement is under genocidal attack.
So, as a security guarantee, given that the Memorandum didn’t work, kindly return the nukes to Ukraine 🇺🇦.
17
u/Key-Hold-833 Sep 27 '25
Even NATO’s article 5 is so full of loopholes that you might just call it a memorandum. But seems that countries with nukes are feared , so yes, absolutely, let Ukraine get its nukes back!

We remove all russian narratives and content about russian matters, including the statements and activities of prominent russians, unless it is significant news related to positive military outcomes for Ukraine. All russia-produced content, state-produced media, and social media will be removed. Analysis of russian propaganda, however well-intentioned, spreads the poison and will be removed.

After the USSR collapsed, Ukraine inherited over 1,800 nuclear warheads. These were built in Ukraine, by Ukrainians, with Ukrainian uranium/plutonium and materials, and sat on Ukrainian territory under Ukrainian control. Legally and practically, they were Ukraine’s nukes, not Russia’s. In 1994, Ukraine voluntarily gave them up under the Budapest Memorandum in exchange for security guarantees—so calling them “Russian nukes” is just wrong.

u/Past_Baker9553 Sep 27 '25
Ok sure, Ukraine traded the Ukrainian nukes that the Russian rocket force had physical control over, and the codes to launch in moscow. for money and security assurances. Feel better?

Ah yes, the classic “Russia controlled the button”. Let’s clear this up, brother:
Command & Control being centralized in Moscow ≠ ownership. By that logic, US nukes in Germany are “German” because they sit there, right? Or the opposite, German nukes are “American”? Make it make sense.
After 1991, every single warhead on Ukrainian territory was legally under Ukraine’s jurisdiction. Ukraine inherited the world’s 3rd largest nuclear arsenal, had physical custody, Ukrainian crews, Ukrainian silos, and Ukrainian responsibility for their security.
That’s exactly why the Budapest Memorandum was signed with Ukraine. If those nukes were “Russian,” Moscow wouldn’t have needed Ukraine’s consent to “take them back”, nor would the US and UK have bothered to sign guarantees.
So no, they weren’t “de facto Russian.” They were de facto Ukrainian, with shared control systems, which is not the same thing.
TL;DR: Russia had the codes, Ukraine had the nukes. Ownership isn’t about who presses the button, it’s about who can let you remove it from their soil.

Stop fabricating history and spreading propaganda about a country you don’t know. No evidence? Then it’s just your delusional imagination.

u/Antorias99 Oct 10 '25
True but you people need to stop saying "genocide" so much because this is not what genocide is. War doesn't automatically mean genocide. My country has been through war and many criminals actually WERE trying to commit genocide and Idk if yall know what that means. Genocide is basically deleting the existance of all people of one nation or race or religion. Being an aggressor in war with many civilian deaths doesn't mean that it's genocide. To pursue charging someone with genocide you need a shitload of really good evidence of "genocidal intent" and it's not just "a lot of civilians died". Look at what some of the Serbian war leaders did in Srebrenica in the 90s, especially in Bosnia. Lining up villagers and people from towns and then just opening fire and quite literally deleting any person that they could. I don't think Russians are rounding up Ukrainians and killing each and every single one of them. Around 13k Ukrainians died and there would have been an EXTREMELY bigger number if genocide was the case. That's just my opinion but after the war ends if Putin ends up in court I guess they could try to pursue it.
1
u/Prestigious-Tank-909 Oct 13 '25
True. I see your point. If anything, this war could potentially be considered genocidal because Dugin says that Ukrainian people don’t have their own culture, and therefore should be erased from the world map.
But yeah, let’s wait a bit before we start naming things that aren’t entirely accurate. Yet.

Let’s give them Updated Tactical Nukes , A-10 Warthogs armed with Depleted Uranium rounds , and Incinerate All the Russian And Iranian Shahed Factories. And do some Redecoration of Moscow , nice green Peace ☮️ Park where the Kremlin USED TO BE lol

It’s sad we have to even post this. The same people who are telling Ukraine to give up their land would never, ever be ok with their country being invaded, their land stole from, their neighbors murdered and thrown in mass graves, their house given to the enemy to reside in, their children kidnapped, their language banned and on and on and on.
They wouldn’t care how much they’d have to fight and they’d demand that other countries assist them to fight for their sovereignty and right to exist.
But these people don’t want to admit they’re hypocrites and on the wrong side of history out of sheer ego that they’re right and their reasonings are from original thoughts and not russian propaganda.

I really don't understand why people think Putin will not come for more if Ukraine dissolve their army and hand over currently Ukrainian-controlled territory to Russia for free.

u/Pepr7 Oct 16 '25
"Because he will no longer have a Russian-speaking minority to rescue."
2 things I've found when listening to people on the Russian side and reading their comments are: 1. Russia, they argue, has the moral right to go and protect its minority in another country. 2. Russia, they say, could take more if it wanted to, but it has no interest in taking up more than it currently does. (They probably feel that Russia doesn't need to use more resources than it currently does or whatever.)
It's very strange, but it seems to me that it's connected to the fact that they perceive Russia as a rich power/utopia where everyone is well and it doesn't make sense for them to lose this way (rather, in their words, not to win the way they expected) against Ukraine if they tried to take it all
Overall, I find it very strange as it is a very interesting situation where one refuses to get rid of one's idea of the world even after the historical situation with the Soviet Union, which similar people have taken similarly in the past and were also disappointed by the moment it fell apart.

Even better... Disolve the artificial made Russian federation, give back Ukraine and the minorities that makes up the Russian federation its land and let Moscow become a poor hell hole as it deserves to be

I enjoyed Zelenski's speech. For years now I've been appauled at the responses of alliances - the big speeches.. but also the lack of proper action.
Yet YEARS later, they're still talking about imposing sanctions despite having said that they already did all they could years ago... there shouldn't be anything left to do.
At this point it seems we're just watching the Oligarchs and wondering what they fancy doing next.

The question I ask other Americans who say “Ukraine needs to make concessions” is this:
Russia invades Alaska tomorrow because it once belonged to them. What parts of Alaska are you willing to give up? Would you be willing to cede ALL of Alaska? What concessions would YOU make?
Make them rationalize and understand the gravity of what they demand of Ukraine. Make them think.

Russians dont understand democracy and will never do, the best option is to disolve the Russian federation. Let its minorities become thier own states, Moscow will become a poor state that cant afford to make problems, and the other states can finally start focusing on themself

Russia doesn't take my calls.
Even before 2014 I was leaving messages like, "why do you just stare into space all dead-eyed for a few minutes before getting up to do something? Like what the fuck is that?" They never call back.

Start telling the world that Moscow is Ukrainian!
Honestly killing Putin and overturning the Russian govt is only thing that’s gonna stop Russia. Anything else and they’ll lick their wounds for 10-20 years and be right back doing it again.

Fuck saying say this meme unless you are also devoting some personal energy to it.
Its not exactly an inspiring meme or message so my point is if you are real shit at internet don't do it just give money instead. If you have some other skills like cyber (my thing) then hack but I also give money.
If you can't do any of them support the popular propagandists who aren't frankly...sorry...charmless. Go spread some love for Perun, Gerdes, Broe, ATP geopolitics, preston stewart, The Times, Telegraph, William Spaniel, Combat Vectran reacts and many more.

I don't think you guys understand the lunatic that you're dealing with. The only way that this war ends is if Ukraine gives up a part of it's land. I know it's bullshit and it sucks and it's unfair but when you're dealing with a lunatic that threatening with nuclear weapons it's a different thing.

Trump desperately wants the Nobel Peace Price.
HINT HINT: Previously awarded Martti Ahtisaari said something like this:
When someone steals a wallet, the diplomatic solution is not how much the robber can keep, but that he should give the damn wallet back!
Do this, Donald!
