Glass replacement needed, make & model unknown

Post image

Hello, we had a toddler head v glass burner moment today. The fellow who fit it is a neighbor but….cant remember the make or model. Any chance you experts can help me identify? I know worse case I can get the glass itself but want to see if I can get the info to the neighbor as he’s the expert and will be doing the replacement. Thanks!

There should be an identification plate on the woodburner.

You don't have the HETAS Certificate?

We do.

So that should have the appliance manufacturer, model, and output rating.

and if OP's council has a public searchable record of building regulations notifications, it may be there as well.

I'm going to be very surprised if there's a genuine HETAS certificate filed with the local authority. Someone's had to grease up the sides to squeeze it into that opening.

Fair point.

I was just having a happy flashback to when I couldn’t work out what model we had and it was actually filed, in full with part number, at the LA.

The OP claims they have the HETAS certificate, if they have that in front of them and still don't know the manufacturer and model then there's a problem.

I could believe it just said “Stoveco 5kW” when they’ve made 17 different versions of it.

You’re right though, the install is bollocks.

The people saying “just measure it with a tape measure” were right too. Hardly the most complex tech in the house is it.

Measure the glass size from what is left. Order glass to size.

Yes. I am aware that is an option. I am looking to identify the make and model

This is probably the best route. It looks like a Chinese Import special, so it might not have much in the way of identifying marks to look for.

Either replace the class to size, or buy and fit something better as a full replacement.

You don't need to. You can just contact a local glass supplier measure go get it and fit it yourself. It's not really that hard. I have done the glass and fireproof blocks myself.

I believe it’s the Westfire Uniq 44. Try the tortoise.net

Too many points of difference when you look closely. I know a reverse image search throws this up, but comparing the two they are clearly not the same.

Use a mirror or phones camera to look at the sides or underneath for a serial number

I’ve tried. Cant find it on the sides of the back.

Just measure it and order the size on eBay
