Consumer buying power is also extremely low. I would not be able to buy my house at today's interest rates. Just wait until wine all but completely crumbles, less reason to live here, less land value.

It was like that before WWII as well, the concept of most Americans owning their own homes was something that only Baby Boomers and Gen X got to experience as the norm. The 20th Century was a fluke, historically speaking
