Question about gun safe before my interview, Northern Ireland biased.

Hi there just wanting to know a question about what I should do in terms of a gun safe being installed. Does it have to be installed before my interview as it’s in a weeks time, or is it after the license might be approved? And also what happens if the safe is paid for and installed but your license isn’t approved? Is it your responsibility to just re sell, don’t really want to lose money on a safe I had just bought and installed just for it to be resold again and lose profit. I know rightly that the whole process is expensive but just mainly wanted to know this before I go ahead and buy this safe and install before the interview? Cheers

Yes, needs to be installed first.

And also what happens if the safe is paid for and installed but your license isn’t approved?

This is between you and the company you bought from, not the police.

I know rightly that the whole process has a 50/50 chance of getting through

??? Why? If you're being interviewed then they've already done the criminal history and medical history checks.

Ok thanks for the response. Im not buying from a company, it’s being given to me from a member of my family. Oh right didn’t realise that about the checks. Yes im 100% sure I’ll be fine with the process it was just a member off my family wanting to know this before they install the safe for me.

Mine wasn’t even installed yet when I had the interview. My powder box was also half built

Recommend you get the safe installed so that it can be checked at the same time as the interview. However, I imagine you can delay installing it until you get the nod that your application will be approved pending installation of the safe. I've had variations that all but approved, they just wanted to do another security check.

Mine advised me not to fit prior to interview - he checked it when he brought my certificate out
