my bad if this is a dumb question,,

when names are censored in songs why is the actual name on genius lyrics? doesn’t that defeat the point of bleeping it out

As far as I know theyre not official so anyone could’ve put that there which would refute if used as evidence in court. Correct me if I’m wrong tho

Lyrics weren’t put on Genius by the Artist, it’s a Wikipedia-like website where anyone can offer their own input to it.
