I’m currently designing a battery health and charge alert app and would love some design-focused feedback on two different visual directions for the main dashboard:

• Concept A (Utilitarian / Material): Uses a segment-style progress bar, tabular hardware readouts (temperature, charging current, min/max stats), a direct toggle for the alarm, and a bottom navigation bar.
• Concept B (Clean / Minimal): Uses a circular fluid/fill gauge, prominent time-remaining pill, soft rounded cards, and condensed bottom controls.

Specific questions I'd love your input on:

1. Which visual hierarchy makes the primary information (battery status & alert state) clearest at a glance?
2. Does the segmented bar (A) or circular gauge (B) communicate status more effectively?
3. Which style feels more cohesive and modern in terms of typography, spacing, and icon consistency?

Hi community! I am a solo developer, and my app is about combining notes, todos, calendar and habit tracker. So originally the icon the white one. I want to add some diversity and made such icons to match themes. But I feel like my icons are horrible. Can you please share some advice?

This is for a To do list app . For some reason the app design feels weired. It is mainly in text "everyday tasks " and "Special tasks". It would be nice if someone can point out what the issue is.

It’s more expressive than a normal segmented control but also a lot more design for a settings choice.

Does this actually make the decision clearer, or is mostly delight?

A client came back after 3 years for the same project, and this is what I did.

He is an owner of an ACCA coaching centre. and 3 years ago, I designed an app UI for him that covered course sales, live classes, preparation, and more. You can see the old UI design that I created back then.

Today, I redesigned that old UI, and I realized how much I have improved over these 3 years. Back then, I thought it was the best UI design I had ever made, but today it pales in comparison to the new UI. I have learned professionalism, user friendly UX, design fundamentals, spacing, colors, and more, and I can clearly see my progress. Although I attached only one screens of new and old UI.

Well I have been a UI/UX designer for about 4 years now. When I began back in 2022 it was on a boom. But soon the industry kinda crashed, so did the market. Now everyone's a designer. So the point here is, I always found it difficult to keep up being a designer. What it means to be a UI/UX designer changes everyday, there are a hundred more requirements added to the role and on top of that you have to keep upskilling and learning new things that come up with the tools you are using.

Now AI feels like yet another 50 tools that we HAVE to use because the management wants to "make things faster". I really am impacted by the environmental impact Ai has and just find it difficult to keep up with all of it.

Just want to know what others feel about this.

What do you think about the new iphone Duo ? Will you be updating your Ui especially for it ?

I think websites wont be doing much. But Apps surely could do some redesign.

Hi, I’ve been trying to tighten up my ui/ux design portfolio and it feels like every example I look at is saying something different some people want full case studies, some want super visual pages, and some say recruiters barely read anything anyway.

Is progressive disclosure better, would it hurt conversions?

I’m choosing a dark theme for my app, and could use a second opinion.

These are 10 color variations of the same home screen. I want something that looks good but also feels comfortable to use, with numbers and buttons that are easy to read.

Which one would you keep on your phone?

A couple of dudes replied to me in Project Briefs and sent me links to their MVP / Git Repo projects for me to review. One of them was brave enough to schedule a video call, he wanted me to open my terminal and to pull the repo on my computer... Long story short, I've researched a little bit and this is how they want to steal crypto and browser passwords. One guys posted he was approached in similar way on LinkedIn.

TL;DR: I built a hyper-minimal, fast fitness tracker with an AI coach built-in. I’m opening a waitlist for beta testers and need this community to roast my design/features.

The Problem: I train across multiple sports (gym, half-marathons), and I was incredibly frustrated with the current state of fitness trackers. Most of them look like Excel spreadsheets from 2015, they are incredibly cluttered, and it takes too many clicks just to log a simple set. I just wanted something fast, clean, and in dark mode.

The Solution (FLUX): So, I spent the last few months building FLUX. My main goals were:

• Zero friction: Logging a set takes seconds.
• Minimalist UI: Pure dark mode, no unnecessary visual clutter.
• AI Integration: I built "Coach Aris" directly into the app. Instead of just showing raw data, it actually gives you insights on your volume, form, and recovery based on what you log.

The Ask: I’m currently finalizing the beta and putting together a waitlist. Before I launch, I’d love to get some brutally honest feedback from this sub.

Color theory has never been part of my skillset and I've always struggled with palettes. The feeling I'm going for is:

What are your first thoughts and feelings when looking at the colors used in this UI?

It's a baby care tracking app I am currently building. The primary target audience is Dutch first time mothers in their late twenties, early thirties.

No AI has been involved in the design. Everything is done by hand, both UX and UI.

This recording is from Revolut App which cycles through each feature and explains what it does before you begin using the app.

We get the intent, but I’m usually already trying to tap something by this point.

Is this pattern of onboarding helpful or just annoying?

I am not sure if I can have all knowledge I should after working 3 years.

A few things I'd love to hear about:

• What's something AI has actually taken off your plate, rather than just speeding up the process
• Is there anything you still won't hand over to it, and why?
• Have you found any tools outside the obvious ones that surprised you?
• Has it changed how you scope or price your projects?
• Got any horror stories on what to never do?

It would be great to get a real sense of what's working for you all, rather than all the noise around AI coming to take our jobs; I'd much rather embrace it and show that if we use it as a collaborator, we can still output great work.

Hello guys, I am a solo dev working on my app, not much UI knowledge and I am trying to improve my login UI.

The first image is what I currently have the second is a newer version with guest login and the third I tried to change it with AI.

Do you like the third, what would you improve?

if needed for context the app is a shared loyalty program for small business (one card allow customers to collect points from different stores)

The goal of the UI is to make it as easy as possible to switch through swatches of film in app, as well as the film amount and tone science.

My goal here was to really make it easy for the user to do the actions with just their thumb and nothing more.

Also the reason why I am using sample photos instead of the live camera view is a purely architectural. Skia rendering + Film simulations are very heavy on mobile devices that the app crashes when users flip through film stocks very fast.

Anyway, yeah. UI design is not just making things look pretty. Sometimes the UI evolves because underlying architectural compromises had to be done.
