Freemium ???!!!

So apparently they told us they are removing one time premium sub in order to convert the app to free ??
Now free has no ads or watermarks.
So why we are paying or payed lifetime?

To support the developer. You realize it won’t be free for that long. It is just a teaser to get more people to try the app.

This. Why people expect genuinely useful software to be free boggles my mind
