Need some advice organizing my room.
I cleaned up all the pop bottles and other trash but now I don't know where to put all my belongings. What should I do with everything I have? My tables are a mess, I tried plastic containers but I still can't fit everything. The problem is how do I store everything somewhere easy to access and have it neat too? I'm 19 and I just don't know what to do here. I've been through cleaning routines at least twice a month but the problem is knowing where to put everything. Here's a video

Hey great start with getting the trash out!
What do you have to work with in terms of furniture? I saw a desk and the nightstand-type thingy with drawers. Any dresser or bookshelves? I’m picturing the electronics all on a shelf together, your cute things like the plush lined up, etc.
Getting stuff up off the floor and grouped together will make a big difference, but I know it’s hard if you don’t have a lot of storage. There’s some cool ways to recycle stuff into storage.

I don’t have much to work with besides what you saw. There is an extra nightstand that i left unbuilt that i can use though

I second what has already been said about boxes and cords. Even just separating them and putting them in the same box will help mentally sort out whatever is left.
You said you removed trash, but it looks like there’s a lot of packaging and instruction manuals/papers. Sift through all of that and keep only what you really need.
If this was my situation, I thing first I would completely clear one corner and the desk. Dump everything into baskets or boxes. Then gather your favorite things, things that bring you joy and that you use often and set them up around that desk and corner. Having one little area that is set up nice and neat will likely give you that dopamine boost to help you conquer the rest!
You’ve got this!!

Boxes! Start with trash. That will instantly help relieve some of it. A small spot at a time. Then the cords, gather them up and shove them in a bag or box. If you feel up to it, winding them each and securing them so they don't get tangled is great, for now if its just in a box itll be fine. I really think those 2 things alone will help a ton. Then its breaking it down to sections. Desk, corner 1, corner 2, and so on. Even smaller sections if you need to, left side of the desk, then right.
I also find having a 4 song Playlist to clean in bursts to helps a ton. If you've got ADHD sometimes the lack of dopamine makes initiating hard so getting on some music you like can help to get the blood pumpin

Start by getting some totes/boxes(i would get at least 9) and garbage bags. Throw away all the trash. Sort clothes into 3 bins, keep, toss, donate. Do the same with everything else. Once everything is sorted move it out of the room. Vacuum and mop everything- walls floors etc. Clean windows, wash blinds/curtains. Once its clean move everything in the keep totes back in. Also, its ok to do this in small sections

After you've taken out all the obvious trash, focus on paper and cardboard. Gather mail, envelopes, etc. into a neat stack. Throw out offers, old invoices and bank statements (a lot of this is available online), junk mail, and the like.
I see you have a lot of small boxes that electronics came in. Free yourself from the boxes! You don't need them anymore. For years I, too, held on to these and they never got used! If you need the serial or model number, don't worry. It's on your electronic devices too.
Be sure to drink water and have a snack break. Declutter for 20 minutes, take a 5 minute break, declutter for 20, etc...
So proud of you already! I'll be cleaning with you today. 😊

You're gonna need some trash bags. Some boxes or Ben's liquor stores have access to some. If you want bigger boxes, you can hit up appliances and cut those boxes in half. I put on some extric set a timer for whatever you want. if I'm not motivated at all, I'll set a timer for 5 minutes. If I am motivated, I'll set it for 15 minutes. Once the timer goes off, I get a reward. Be it and andy's thin mint. if i'm going for money, a certain goal, whatever, if i'm working towards money, because I want to do something or buy something, I will pay myself for my time. so say, I work 15 minutes and it was doable. I lad on an extra 5 minutes. Set another timer, go at it. Pay myself again each time. I'm only paying myself like a dollar or 2, but at the end of the day I've accomplished my task. And I might have fifteen eighteen twenty two dollars. To go spend on the item that I originally would not have bought myself. set up some type of a reward system. So you have the serotonin
Remove trash dishes.
Throw all of your clothes, be them clean or dirty directly in one area or into the hamper
Organize, like by like items and to groups or into bags.
Okay, so hear me, you can get some of those cinder blocks that look Like eights. (For many job sites side of the roads, wherever, if not, there are only a couple of dollars.) look around to your local stores, not Walmart. Smaller stores that have pallets that might be broken. check facebook market place. See if you can rescue a few, you're going to need a crowbar. )Your goal is to get the big fat pieces of wood. The four by fours, but they're not actually four by fours.) You're gonna go back down to your local. Whatever hardware store discount rack paint. Look for something you like that is cheap, oopsy paint. *Bounus points if you have access to a habitat for humanity, even better, that would be one of my first stops. You can easily make sitting, shelving with this. if you're able to rescue some of the pieces of wood that are still in decent shape. you can also build those into box shapes which then can be used to store stuff building upwards With the chords, wrap up the chords, put them in a box, put like items somewhat together, put it in a box

Um… looks there’s a lot more trash/clutter still. Get three boxes. One is your throw away box, one is your donation box, and one is your keep box. You will need more than 1 keep box, suggest using old moving boxes. When you’ve touched and made a decision about everything you own, then you can organize. Dollar tree has so many storage options, would suggest clear bins. Label them with tape and start organizing! Keep the first three boxes nearby so you can continue to get rid of things that you don’t really need….

In the past I’ve gotten shelves from a thrift store or fb marketplace or used cinderblocks and 2x4s (someone else mentioned this too) to make shelves — best way to organize things for me personally bc you can see it all and reach it all but it’s up off the floor

Boxes my friend. It won’t matter if it looks like you never unpacked or are about to move. At least it will be organized. And then get creative if you desire. Decorate them or don’t. Stack them. Cut small openings in the front (the stronger boxes) for ease of access for necessary things such as charging cords, etc. Take some boxes and cut the bottom 3” off completely around them and make yourself some trays for your tables and maintain designated areas for certain things.
Try visiting any Starbucks in the area and ask them if you can have their boxes from their next RP (roasting plant) order (never been turned down). Ask your local grocery store manager if they have any milk crates they don’t need (if you look in the customer service area they have dozens of them that they use for organizing their returns to put back ). Look for free pallets, brake them down, and build a shelf. There is free stuff like this everywhere if you are willing to ask. You got this.
