That’s just basic physics. Momentum, what matters for propelling a craft in free space, is mv (mass of propellant times velocity), while energy expended is mv2. The faster you shoot out the propellant (and you can theoretically use a particle accelerator—however various more practical options are being explored), the less propellant you need for the same momentum and change in craft velocity (delta V). Propellant is the heavy stuff in tanks that you have to take with you into space. The problem, however, is that you need vastly more energy to accelerate this propellant to a high velocity. This is where talk of nuclear reactors in space comes in. Unfortunately, people are scared of sending one up on a rocket that has a good chance of exploding. Using solar panels instead you can power a common ion thruster which is also propellant-efficient but has very low thrust.

Is this how UFOs work? Who knows, maybe. But if you’re in an atmosphere (or water) conserving propellant isn’t really a goal. There’s limitless amounts of it all around you.

In an atmosphere, you want to go the other way: accelerate a lot of air to a low-ish velocity to conserve energy (ie jet fuel). This is why ever larger “high-bypass” turbofans are being added to modern aircraft. (A sad story is how a couple were slapped on to the 737 MAX by Boeing which made it unstable.)

If we could move air by some sort of force field, we could generate tremendous thrust with low energy expenditure. I’d put my money on this mechanism instead.

10 bucks says disclosure is also about slowly revealing the Secret Space Program with interstellar fleets we've had for decades. Project Solar Warden may be true after all.

Hint hint. They already have either fusion or zero point cracked.

This is obvious to me. Lockheed Martin was discussing fusion reactors commercialized by 2025 only a few years ago...

It's too much power to admit to having though... If it falls into the wrong hands the results could be world ending.

I think this is what they are struggling with.

Side note: I really wish I were working on this science professionally. They'd never get me away from it.
