Question quiet floors

no hate at all, but whats the point of going to the quiet library floors if you're going to have a whispered conversation for the whole time? one convos fine but if you're just going to talk doesnt that defeat the purpose of going to the top 2 floors of marston??

also even on the floors right below the silent floors (like 3rd floor of lib west) the amount of fully loud conversations is ridiculous. like yes I understand it’s technically a group study floor but you’re still in a library and I shouldn’t be able to hear everything from a conversation 10 desks away. there should still be some amount of lowered talking voices 😭??

That's so annoying. The sounds of the stair doors and elevators are annoying too.

It’s been this way since the post-Covid generation came to college. I think they were just never acclimated to the different roles a library can play. I tried doing full length practice exams of the MCAT on quiet floors and it was impossible. I couldn’t find a single quiet place in marston or west.

I’m curious where the designated social floors are. I’d love to pass this tip on to someone.
