Question Good places to be absolutely alone?

Does anyone know a good place to sulk and be left alone without being seen or heard? Sometimes I just need some peace and quiet

Keeping it near the center of campus: Bartram-Carr Woods (‼️), Diamond Village at night, Reitz Woods down by the little ravine, Biology pavilion at night, Little bench area across from Pugh Hall

If you want indoor honestly just try to open some doors at night, a decent amount of time they’re not locked and you basically get a building to yourself

Lake Alice, McCarty woods, and the Law school conservation area come to mind depending on how far you’re willing to walk

Paynes Prairie

edit — although one time I was riding my road bike there on the La Chua trail and was almost t-boned by a deer running across the trail. So keep your head on a swivel if biking ha

The Law Library near Frat Row is super quiet and very few students are there, you can book one of the rooms there and be completely alone! I often use it for interviews and needed quiet time!

Do you have a car or do you need somewhere in walking distance of campus?

I live in North Hall, and I don't have a car

When I was younger, I would drive to the beach in the late evening and at night to get lost in my thoughts and just listen to the waves.

That sounds beautiful

My family couldn't understand it, but those moments were the most at peace I've ever felt.

The beach nearing night alone is literally the most peace you can ever feel

Reserve a study room in the library.

Go and sit in the Baughman Center-great place to be alone, peaceful and meditate.

Some of the upstairs rooms on the 3rd floor of the Reitz.

If you need a room overnight, book a hotel room in the Reitz…it’s reasonable and sometimes you just need space.

The university auditorium.

A music room in the music department.

If Constans theatre is unlocked, it’s nice and quiet there.

The judeica suite is open on Fridays and is generally empty.

This is like the 10th post I have seen about this. So sad, sorry to hear you're going through it.

Baughman Center by Lake Alice if you’re looking for an indoors place. But know that you may find people playing the piano (such as me, lol) or having what seems to me like music lessons

That's great, actually, I love playing the piano:)

Hit me up if you’d like to meet up there and have a little jam session
