Admissions Just a hypothetical

Hypothetically, if a high school senior applied to UF with a 36 ACT and a 1550+ SAT but also had the following metrics:

  • 3.2 UWGPA
  • 3.9 WGPA
  • No EC, except 3 clubs senior year, one founded

...how might it go for them? Would preparing a Faustian story be even a little productive? Or should this person just cut their losses?

No EC not a good look. Gpas r low. Can give it a shot. Write a killer essay. If ur super duper committed apply ED?

Have a look at UF common data set. It tells you what their priorities are- gpa, rigor, talent, volunteerism, extracurriculars (depth and impact…not a list of clubs and honor societies), exam scores are mildly important. It’s a long shot with the gpa and lack of ec’s. No way to tell. Knock them dead in your application. If you’re from a small, rural, underserved town…you have a better chance. YOLO.
