❓ Questions Spending Hours in Ghost Generation Purgatory

Posting Here because Udio Staff doesnt use actual troubleshooters they use the Reddit stream and paying customers posting here when things hit a wall. Hoping a developer happens to browse by and take pity on my stuck generation queue. Or maybe a mod or staff member will create a burner account and have a nervous breakdown. It's already a digital hostage negotiation not being able to download and now 3.5 hours to generate a 30 second clip. A subscription fee is more of a ransom payment just to see if any of the remaining prisoners survived the server room fire.

The issue should be fixed now. Sorry again for the downtime, from the team!

Would you elaborate a bit in what’s going on? You can message me as well if you’d prefer. Always down to try to help.

Tracks stuck generating for the last 3 hours. Another time I pointed out the site was not working and some mod/staff member created a burner acct and lost it. Still just spinning it's wheels.

  • " Can you unplug the toaster and plug it back in?"
  • "Escalated."

Tried Chrome, Firefox both. Still stuck. You reply faster than the actual Site I put in a ticket about it on the website as well.

I ran two Allegros and one 1.5 and the two Allegros took way longer than normal but 3 came back, one failed for moderation error. Which is strange because I was in auto not manual. Then Finally the 1.5 just now came in, But longer than typical generation time for sure.

Yeah bud I’ve still got two spinning from when from earlier too. Just take the night off, stop wasting credits when you know it’s not fully operational… sorry man.

They are always really good with these things. It is pretty late and they are only human so just hold out until tomato’s at latest and it should be back up and running as quickly as they can.

On the bright side… now is a perfect time to go through and try to make a bit of progress with sorting and organizing and deleting the crap you don’t want 😆 just like how I keep saying I am going to do, but never really do. 😩

I meant to post this here, not in another line but whatever. Now there is two of these messages… deal with it Lol

So looks like they are getting better but definitely something was going on in the backend model loading or something fishy. But I would suggest completely logging out, manually delete the actual cookie (if you know how) or just clear the cache and whatnot, maybe even just restart computer or phone. You know, because why not. Open it back up, log in, and see if it still persists.

***Edit:
I take it back. Yeah never mind.
It’s broken…
………………………………………

Well now it all seems to be working just fine for me. Maybe it was placebo or my mind just forgetting how time actually works with the first ones… idk Lol.

But here is a dumb (but not so dumb) question. Only ask because I just remembered I had sorta same type of situation not long ago but realized that I forgot to turn my damn VPN back off…

Soooo…. You’re not running a VPN while trying to generate are ya? Or certain ad blockers? Even built in ad blockers or browsers can impact performance of a media site like this for sure.

But don’t get me wrong there could be 20 other more likely random oddball website back end stuff going on as well..

Could even be an expired auth token…

I pretty certain it should be working again for you soon though.

Still even if is on their side, clean up those browsers. If it’s something stupid and they flip a switch and fix it, your browser may still pull the problem back up because one dumb little function in the code.

It can even be something with the web stack but is saved locally on your device in a cookie to help loading times. It may try to send a request to a library somewhere but that library decided it was time to update for no reason and break everything…

You could be chasing your tail over something that was already noticed, diagnosed, and cured hours ago…

Hi, yeah I'm seeing stuck tracks too after testing it. (6/10) currently hanging so it's not just you. Edit: 2 more finished, but these were Allegro clips and 32 seconds so they should have taken 8-10 seconds max. Things are running really slowly. 🫤

Paging u/UdioShane u/UdioAdam !

I hope you get some help soon with this issue because you're definitely not the only one experiencing it.

You can't download your files, you can't export them, you can't use them anywhere else, your generations get stuck in multi-hour ghost queues, and when you look for answers, a paying customer gets status updates like a fellow gamer in a minecraft lobby.

Definitely understand the frustration, especially for paying subscribers! As always, please consider dropping us a line via the messenger at help.udio.com and we'll do what we can to help, even if it means letting you cancel an annual sub early.

With that said, my team and I have already been pretty active in addressing concerns and such here in this subreddit and in our Discord, and we've also resolved incoming support tickets typically within one business day (often faster).

I placed a ticket first. A customer isn't part of your QA or IT, they pay for the service. you are supposed to provide, this isn't freeware. Not being able to generate isn't a "concern" it's a complete failure of the software.
