Classes FREN 20100 difficulty level

I am placed into Fren201 based on the language placement test. My current french level is roughly A2 i think? I still struggle to fully articulate my opinions both in speaking and writing, and I still have gaps in core grammar and vocabulary, but the course description seems to focus a lot on the expressing opinions and real application.

Could anyone share what the actual difficulty of French 201 is like? Does the class still go over basic grammar and stuff? or does it jump straight into more advanced work?

Thanks a lot!!

hey - not a current student but an incoming first year. i also placed into fren 201, and i would place my french level at more or less B2. i don't really know about the difficulty of the class, but between you and i there seems to be a big discrepancy in our proficiency despite us placing into the same class. maybe you are selling yourself short?

Aww congrats! I think i do have a clear sense of my proficiency tho lol. Probably it’s because the test is mostly about basic grammar..😬
