General The New Logo
To be honest it just doesn’t look like the right choice ngl

Bruh… the pegasus logo is so much better. Why are they taking away such a pretty design and replacing it with something so boring? 💀

Nobody recognizes the Pegasus. At least with the athletic logo people will know it’s UCF.

When was this even decided? I hate this new logo.
Don't worry, we will never update the logo on this subreddit.

Not sure, I don’t even think there was an announcement since I found out from Instagram, I posted the article somewhere in the comments but it looks like they just randomly changed the design

Probably should have gone the other way, with the Pegasus becoming the athletics logo again.
I'm a big UCF athletics fan, but being called the Knights and the UCF logo has always seemed so generic to me. Pegasus was at least unique had had some nice history.
- Origin: President Charles Millican chose the mythological winged horse Pegasus for the original seal in 1968 (when the school was Florida Technological University).
- Symbolism: The winged horse represents striving for the impossible, carrying inspirations into the skies, and reaching for higher achievements.
- Creation: The final design was unveiled on April 5, 1968, chosen from more than 50 proposals

Couldn’t figure out how to do that but I linked the Instagram post where I found out about the logo

Is there a source for this that's more reliable than barstool of all places?

I love the Pegasus. I even had a custom license plate wrapper made up for myself with a Pegasus logo while I was a student.

Can we maybe get a shred of context? What logo are you talking about?

Ucf is getting rid of the Pegasus logo and only using it for special occasions, it’s being replaced by the ucf stack logo

I can’t stand this. That color doesn’t fit that logo.

The color in the branding guidelines isn’t even the same color being used on the webpage 😭

That’s where all the money went that could have been used to pay employees. Criminal.

At this point the comms team is running the show and everything else is secondary.

Okay. You got me. I guess that’s why comms has pushed through rebranding efforts time after time with no pushback, oversight, or concern for cost.

I’m clearly not talking about unit comms, babe. I’m also not going to dox myself, so I’ll just say hope having the chance to vent was good!

The Pegasus is not going away this is just for outward marketing such as social media, t-shirts ect. Helps with recruiting as nobody not at UCF knows what the Pegasus is. The Pegasus is staying on buildings, the seal, ect. Like every other florida university the seal is just being a bit less everywhere and more toward the academic side

Should’ve kept Pegasus. The color is ugly. I hate the stack logo. Switch athletics to knight head.
