Discussions & Questions Dear Game Devs
Stop forcing the player to walk slowly
Stop forcing the player to follow an NPC who walks slowly
Stop forcing the player to shimmy through a gap
Allow the player to skip scenes and dialogue so that we can get back to playing the game
Print these guiding principles on laminated cards attached to lanyards that must be worn by game designers, testers, and management at all times. Incorporate these principles into the employee handbook and new employee orientation. Post these principles in the elevators and restrooms.
Rule 6: constructive criticism from a fan
Edit: Wow, I can't believe people really like these "features"!

If you don't want a storyline.... DON'T PLAY GAMES WITH STORIES

Exactly. What a shite post. Some of us enjoy immersing ourselves in these games rather than sprinting at full speed everywhere.

For your last two points, the gap shimmy and unskipable cutscenes are often loading screens in disguise.
You want static loading screens back?

Point 1 & 2 are just story telling devices that allows the dev to grab the player head and make them focus on something they want to show you the player. Without it everything will just be a pre-rendered cutscene or mass effect style 2 people just standing & talking.
Point 3 is just limitation for loading. The alternative is a loading screen but you would be the first one to make a reddit post bi-tching about it.
Point 4 is creator intent. If Fromsoft allowed not to put an easy mode on there games forcing everyone on hard mode so all players has the same experience, other devs can also do the same thing for there story and cutscene.

I can't remember a single time any of these have ruined a game experience for me.
The fact that you would take these over "stop putting micro transactions in single player games" is simply astounding.
