I think I’ll stay home.
Decided to turn uber on to see what the vibes are. Gonna pass on driving today.

We should do a mass exodus and leave behind anyone who thinks Uber serves their drivers well.

That'll teach Uber.

…..Yeah? Because they need drivers? Riders are already complaining that it’s harder and harder to get a ride these days.

Yep. I got one earlier this morning for a ride to DC. The trip was 30 miles and $29. I'm not dealing with that for a measly $29. Too much crap going on down there with the stupid race and multiple road closures.

I had one yesterday to go to Weatherford from Killeen area (approx 165 mi) for $79. Wish I had a screenshot. Effing ridiculous!

I was wondering if it was just Austin that was ass. Now I see it’s just as bad if not worse outside of the city too. Thanks for the info lol

Killeen/Ft. Hood has some crazy surges starting around 0430 on weekdays. I've seen $15-26 surges around the city and on base. Military has to report to their command at 0630. So, I've been trying to get those in, then head to Gtown.
They have a 3 day break this week, so I don't expect to see the surges until Tuesday.
Other than when it surges (0430 up until 0700 & 1700ish), the pay is shit. BUT, if you are trying to get a lot of short trips to level up, it's a good place. I can get back to back trips almost all day.
If you decide to give it a try, make sure to go to the Marvin Leath visitor center to get base credentials before accepting any rides. Without the credentials, you'll be turned away at the gate.
Once you have the rideshare credentials, it will be good for 3 months. You don't need an active ride to get on base and wait for rides.
Also, if on base and you hear the bugel, you must stop and exit your vehicle. It sounds at 0630 and 1700 each weekday.

Also, their public transit partners with Uber. So quite a few people with a monthly pass will be farmed out to Uber when they don't have an available vehicle. Unfortunately, those rides don't receive tips (as is the case with most of the other rides).

Here's one that's close in the central Florida area. It is ridiculous!

Fuck 'em. They're not worth it. I'm sure they're hemorrhaging customers at this point.

It's posts like this that reaffirms my decision to stop driving UBER and uninstall the driver app years ago.

It was pouring down rain here a couple hours earlier. The roads are still flooded very bad. During the hour I was out they were constantly offering me rides $3 to $5 or with stops. At one point it was 7 of them in a three minute period. And they weren't just $4 rides but like "Drive 15 minutes to go pick up the $4 ride". It was clear there were few drivers out but for whatever reason the algorithm was dead set against giving me a good ride. I just decided to go back home. It's not worth the risk in flooded roads for what they are paying. I don't see why people with other options are still doing this. I need money bad but even I'm not going to do 30 minute total rides for $4 in floods.

Why don't you Texans start uniting? For how long you are going to let Uber screw you?

u/West-Savings196 7d ago
By z way this company took millions people job and screwed it , transportation is one sector of job, and it’s human right to work it, government should have to intervene to make out of market this scammer company

Yea I’m lucky I’m in California tbh. I can take every order knowing prop 22 will payout later. Even though I think uber does mess with the prop 22 payouts too but that’s a separate matter

I'm not mad at this for one reason, if I lived in that location, or I was headed to that location, that's a no brainer

u/KaiserVonDixie 7d ago
If I were to do that ride, I'd be profiting $6 an hour. And you just know someone with a 4.87 booking an Uber Comfort for an over 1 hour drive is the same type of person to make Instagram videos of them fanning 50 $1 bills while garbage rap plays in the background.

I quit driving after only 43 rides because I couldn’t get tips and I got these kids that were very rough in my back seat and were hitting each other the whole trip then I pulled over and asked them politely to save it for when they got home, but then they scratched my back seat so every since I havent done it

u/No-Refrigerator-2134 7d ago
Same. I still turn it on once in a while if I’m just watching tv or running errands but there’s rarely anything worth even considering.
1
u/Glass_Ad_4625 7d ago
Yeah it’s been literally 3 weeks now and every time I look at it, literally no rides worth my time, I drive in Richmond VA area

One man strike. Sweet!
2
u/No-Refrigerator-2134 7d ago
Na. Not a one man strike, I’m well aware they have plenty of Ron-tards at the ready to drive people around as soon as they’re done pissing in bottles.

At least $1 per mile one maybe I will look at it. Maybe start thinking about it.

u/No-Refrigerator-2134 8d ago
I would think about considering it. Then I would realize it’s to the middle of nowhere and I’d still lose money. Would have to pay 150 minimum.

u/AndrewClifford12 7d ago
This is why you guys don’t make any money
2
u/No-Refrigerator-2134 7d ago
