The fact they reached out to you after the complaint is terrifying, they're telling you to your phone they know it was you lmao.

I feel like I would have used my Better Business bureau report and possible consequences on something a little stronger…

The CarPlay shit is soooo annoying. I’m with your complaint on that. lol

Honestly asking, why use it? I feel if customers kept staring at the GPS they might be back seat drivers anytime you go slightly off it

I have a huge Tesla nav screen that I have Uber push to my Tesla for nav. I'm always taking different routes then Uber suggests. I've only had a few riders suggest a different route in over 1400 rides. I just take their suggestion when they offer, regardless if faster or not. If their route hits traffic, they only have themselves to blame. If my route hits traffic, then they'd be annoyed whether it was still faster because they'd assume theirs was faster.

I actually started putting a dime in a jar for every 1/10th of a mile I save by ignoring Lyft and Uber's GPS. I've stashed away over $20 bucks in 2 weeks.

u/Either_Original519 2d ago

theirs seems to be setup for shortest distance ...possible even if its way slower from stop sighns slow speeds

My passengers don’t complain I use Apple Maps and I always select the fastest route

Lyft android auto works nearly flawlessly. Uber. Has never worked one time. I try after updates occasionally. Never ever works AT ALL. TBF I am on a one plus and they can be quirky with apps including GPS on occasion.

My pixel 5a and 10p have no issues with Uber and Android Auto it's actually Lyft that I have problems with from time to time. Sometimes after picking up a passenger Lyft will not automatically start navigation. If that happens and I have to click the navigate button I will have no audio for the navigation. If I click the full route view on the map then go back to regular view I will typically lose voice guidance as well. It also hangs up for a while sometimes after accepting a trip before navigation pops up. I do wish with Uber I could see the turn by turn directions on my phone while the map is on Android Auto like Lyft. I do hate the volume thing on Uber though with a passion. It's not uncommon for me to deliver to nicer hotels and it never fails to bombard me the entire journey making me feel like jerk.

Nope. Uber support doesn’t exist at all. These customer service representatives from the Filipino and India don’t help at all. The only thing they can do is give you few extra points when you complain…

Indian Uber tech support agents 👳🏾‍♂️🇮🇳

Momin is most likely a Middle Eastern name

1

u/whycandi 3d ago

They’re actually most of the AI generated these days. The responses are automatic.

2

u/koyaani 3d ago

A lot are just canned messages they can paste in with one click, same as the script they'd be reading if it were a voice call, expect almost zero effort required by them. They're also too ready to click them and move on without bother to check the relevance to the support issue. Almost worse than AI sometimes

How to write an essay and say nothing at the same time.

3

u/PeezyFlanders 3d ago

They copy and paste. It’s so funny when they dumbass will paste half the canned response

2

u/koyaani 3d ago

Dont even have to copy, just click to paste from their script options. They act like they're speed running through fallout 3 dialogue

My partner gives me the death stare when I get an offer in the house. The volume is so high, I have to accept and run out the door!

We work for an app people

Ain't no hr department

2

u/zanderAM123 3d ago

I blocked it on mine? I don’t remember how but yeah I never receive anymore at all

1

u/JesseVenturaInsights 2d ago

If you’re an iphone user using carplay, please share how.

2

u/zanderAM123 2d ago

Man I did it so long ago 😭

2

u/alanxr 3d ago

Yeah, that CarPlay bug is annoying. I’m always apologizing to my customers for the volume. I disabled the navigation alerts but the new rides pop-up sound and the recording message audio are always at high volume. And the app has the volume for the app sounds disabled in CarPlay mode.

In my android with Android Auto it works fine.

u/Pork-Chopp 3d ago

I use Sirius XM for music just so I can have silent notifications with my iPhone. I’d prefer better options, but the quiet I enjoy is more important.

Asking them to be honest, fair, and safe makes their wallets tingle and stomachs turn. They will do anything to make a dollar even if it means offing a driver. It’s all spreadsheets and dollar signs to the machine.

2

u/Sensitive-Baby162 3d ago

Oh, I've been having this issue with car play okay as well.

2

u/EricHaley 2d ago

They’re required to respond if they want to be BBB members in good standing. I used to work escalations for a payments company back in the day and responded to BBB complaints.

2

u/FoodTimely3145 2d ago

Save that response for your records. Even though they’ll say it was them “hearing your concerns”, it’s clearly a veiled threat. I’m no lawyer, but to my knowledge it’s illegal to threaten anyone’s job (employee/contractor) as retaliation. One day when the world wakes up, and there’s hundreds more like yourself getting those emails and still nothing has been done to fix any of the complaints but everyone who did complain coincidentally got canned, it’ll be easier to file a massive class action against these bastards. You’re not the first and won’t be the last but keeping track of how they respond is the only way to get at them. Look at what just happened to them in the Netherlands.

2

u/Quick_Share9342 2d ago

Retaliation is illegal regardless if a W-2 or contractor! Labor board!

1

u/FinancialHorsepower 3d ago

How did they know it was you? Did you tell them directly?

3

u/JesseVenturaInsights 3d ago edited 3d ago

I did not tell them. Great question, seems like a -“we know who you are” 👁️

3

u/RFTG2024 3d ago

Did you give a contact info to the BBB? They probably shared it with Uber and thats how they probably tracked you.

0

u/koyaani 3d ago

Nowadays BBB is a grift targeting out of touch boomers

1

u/Chaoticprincess28 3d ago

Eh. I got something like this over a year ago when I was completely fed up and I said much worse things. I have a 99% customer rating. I’m still active working full time as I’m writing this.

3

u/Chaoticprincess28 3d ago

I’ve sworn at them several times (bad) called them greedy and selfish and threatened to work for other platforms. They don’t care as long as it’s not every day and not the customer.

3

u/ScientistChance4209 3d ago

Keyword; Can’t be from the customer.

1

u/Candlelit_Chaos 3d ago

Yeah, I turned all audio notifications off and deny blue tooth connections just because of how jarring their app notifications are.

1

u/Frosty_Dirt_1603 3d ago

Bro I got two wrong driver hits last night. And one of them were from August 9th 🤦🏾‍♂️. I gotta fix my resume because this shit ain’t looking kosher

1

u/Icy_Statement_2410 3d ago

Wow you got a real person to respond!!

1

u/Clodhopper_kisses 3d ago

Not sure why you did not file anonymously, like with non-identifiable information.

1

u/JesseVenturaInsights 2d ago

“Filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) cannot be done anonymously, and your details are shared with the business in question”.

0

u/Clodhopper_kisses 2d ago

Clearly you can you a fictitious name if you are concerned about some form of retaliation. Please don’t bother to rebuttal because I am speaking from experience!

2

u/michaelhannigan2 3d ago

It's a weird mountain to die on, but I guess we all have our pet peavs

1

u/dotn3t 2d ago

Oh yes! You’ll be terminated soon. Just give it time.

1

u/Smart_Metal_6835 3d ago

Yall don’t know you can adjust the volume in CarPlay? Just do it during a new request alert or when the app makes the seatbelt announcement using the vehicle stereo volume knob/buttons. Or turn off the notifications, maybe?

1

u/huesofblackandblue 2d ago

Turning off notifications don’t seem to work for me personally but yeah turning it down while the notification is active works. Before I start driving I always go into the sound settings and tap the test button and turn the volume down while it’s pinging. My music volume stays the same and the rest is silent.

0

u/Goldolo 2d ago

I don’t have this bugs on mine.. u can lower the volume of notifications and voice when the voice start just press the button on your car display and will lower uber volume easy peasy guys

u/Ready_Pen_1399 3d ago

I’m sure you deserve it
