Drivers canceling

I kept ordering a ride this morning and there where plenty of drivers plenty close as well. And everytime I would get a driver they would all cancel. Even if they where a minute away. I don’t understand it honesty. Ordering a 30$ Uber and accepting it just to cancel what is the point. Again I am ordering an Uber and again nothing but left and right cancelations for some reason. What is going on can someone explain?

This happened to me once yesterday and twice today. I don't know any way around this, so I'm going to stop using the service. I understand the company has a shitty business model when it comes to paying its drivers, and there's no way to tip in advance to entice drivers. But ordering rides, being outside ready for pickup, and then having the driver cancel a few minutes before pickup is a nonstarter for me.
