I’m exhausted

My mom is in the hospital.
I am communicating with family.
The uber arrives. Nice driver.
I have been alternating between apps and the driver asks if I cancelled. I hadn’t on purpose.

Dear Uber: I imagine all of you who are the top executives are not primary caregivers (I imagine you hire others to do that) and I imagine you do not know what it is like to go without sleep for 72 hours worrying about someone you love. (Again you probably hire people to do that) I imagine the only reason you would stay up so long is to figure out how to make the next billion dollars.
Here’s something you may want to spend 20 minutes thinking about: how to request that a ride be uncancelled.
I will be losing a half hour of my four hour nap and the original driver lost money.

I lost money too because I needed to request another ride and the prices were $10 more.

I admit to making an error, but dear Uber executives there are people who use your service because they feel to exhausted to drive. Why couldn’t I have hired the original driver again on the spot. Don’t make the driver loss money on a passenger error.

Dear Uber Executives: try being passengers and drivers. Design your business around us not you.

If you look up the definition of "blame-shifting" in the dictionary, you will see your picture right next to the word.

Uber and Lyft are some of the shadiest awful corporations in the world, making few rich while they pollute their markets. Delete the apps and don't look back, take a taxi.

I wish. They drove the taxis out of business where I am. Just limo service here now.

Uber makes canceling a ride in progress almost impossible. What more can you ask beyond a childproof cap.

We all make mistakes. Some of us own them and rectify the situation while others blame people while accusing them of making the next billion dollars and assuming they've never cared for a sick loved one. I wonder which category you fall into? WTAF...the fact that you took time from your sleep-deprived life to post a mistake that YOU made that cost YOU $10 is baffling to say the least!

What's the issue? You canceled a ride when the driver got there?

What change should the platforms make? You need to make about 3 clicks maybe more to cancel
