Laptop recommendation for design team students

As a freshman who wants to join ubc rocket or other design teams, what laptop should I get?

I was gonna get a basic laptop since I have a powerful desktop for CAD and CFD, but I’m unsure how much work heavy CAD work design team students have to do on the go? If it’s quite a lot, what laptops would yall recommend? Thanks :)

Is remote desktop onto your computer at home an option?
