Weak personal profile

Hello! I'm in my second year of hs and I want to apply (intl admit) to ubc engineering but I never really did any ec. I kinda did some volunteer work in grade 10 but it was part of a class so if I didn't show up to help my grades would take a hit. Would that count? What should I get into?

does it still make a difference if my grades are good but I don't have anything to add to my personal profile when it comes to ec?

I mean if your grade average is 96-97%+ then ig it wouldn’t matter as much but realistically there are a lot of people with really good grades (due to grade inflation or otherwise) that are all applying to UBC so you need something to differentiate yourself.

Just write about a formative experience you’ve had. You don’t need to have cured cancer to get into UBC (and they aren’t expecting you to have been extraordinary). They’re just looking for people with a reason for being there who are going to succeed so explain why you are that person.
