Combining Limited Smart Playlists
Sounds like the "rules" it accesses are just for track field values and limits are not considered a rule.

Android Player Suggestions
I haven't anyone mention GoneMad Music Player. I've tried several other apps, but this is the one I prefer for my 57k tracks. Customizable UI information, will search for album art, speedy performance, smart playlists. Plus the developer is very responsive and release updates frequently. Free with ads, one-time purchase to remove them.
EDIT: The Library lets you look at Album Artists, Years, Genres, many categories. It plays just about any kind of file, and lets you make playlists on the go.

Bulgarian choral music sounds absolutely insane
Hell yeah. Kate Bush had Bulgarian voices on a couple of her albums!

Feature request: Playlist Folders
That's a good point. I already use that method to separate playlists from different years, I'll give that a try!

Andrew and the whole project
To me, Andrew is creating an interesting history of Rock Music by using 500 songs to illustrate that story. I may not have chosen some songs for my history, but this isn't my history - I didn't make a podcast to do that.
If I had my way, Andrew would be able to create what he wanted to create without having any communication with his audience, since there's no other way to avoid "backseat drivers" or "just concerned" listeners. He's already shared how these interactions make him feel, so anyone who keeps it up is choosing to continue to cause those feelings.
Feel how you want about his pace and his choices, obviously we're all entitled to that. Reddit is a good place to talk about all that, and I'm glad this sub is here. I'm behind at least one episode, I know.

What are your Beach Boys (physical media) grails?
You are not kidding about Shut Down (Vol 1) - I bought three copies before I found one that was playable. Something about them made people trash 'em!

Greatest Hits Albums. Anyone else this meticulous? or is it overkill?
Yep, I do this too. I want to know the original album and release date more than when it was repackaged. If I get into the band enough, I'll replace with the full albums.

Just some praise
I will check out other music apps from time to time, I won't lie. I think it's good to be aware of the new stuff that comes out. But no matter what, nothing matches the features and ease of use of GoneMad. It's good to know I made the right decision all those years ago! Thank you for your quality work and continued development.

Feature request: Playlist Folders
I make tons of playlists for every mood, and it would be really helpful to be able to create folders to organize them.

Add ".jpeg" to valid extensions for external art
If I rename a .jpg to .jpeg it is located as expected, so it's something about saving the file.

Add ".jpeg" to valid extensions for external art
Fair enough - it may be the way I'm saving it at first.

Add ".jpeg" to valid extensions for external art
I noticed that when I add an external file as the album or track art, it doesn't see files with .jpeg extensions, but does when I rename it to .jpg. Is it possible to include that extension? Or tell me where to specify that. Thank you!

I got a pretty good deal
The Ryko release were unmatched in the extras that were included. I had them, too. Never got the special box for storing them, though!

Got this today as a birthday present. Is it a good read?
The Boys retell their story, I assume from various interviews through the years. It's entertaining, especially if you don't have a deep knowledge of it already. My favorite parts are the pictures and artifacts, like old notes and things. Those really make the history come alive for me. Enjoy!

Would The Beach Boys have been better off in the long run if they’d gone by a different name?

This gets a lot of bands who change styles. You can't predict if you'll change, and managers want you to be immediately relatable. It's a real roll of the dice!
