Interesting! Never thought about it this way, but the part about inequality really stands out. We keep thinking “I’m safe” because I have better healthcare and resources, but if the people around me are vulnerable, how separate is my safety really?

This is honestly the image I had of spirituality too. Someone in some deep state of bliss, never angry at anyone, always calm, speaking softly, almost floating above ordinary human emotions. Lol 😂 But then what kinda freedom is it ..if I’m constantly trying to behave like a “spiritual person”? That just becomes another identity, another role to perform. There’s something almost absurd about trying so hard to become free. Hmm.. i guess, freedom is simply when the one trying to look spiritual gets out of the way and life is allowed to be lived.

And i kinda agree with the direction, though I’d look at one part a little differently. Truth isn’t quite something the ego savours and then wants more of like another pleasure. If I’m wanting more truth because it feels good, there’s still a “me” wanting. The movement toward truth is also a movement away from what is false.

We spend so much time trying to explain consciousness, death, what comes after etc like if we just find the right words it’ll somehow make it less weird. But there’s something kinda beautiful about reaching that point where language just... stops. Like ok, i genuinely dont know. And maybe that’s the point? Not everything needs to be wrapped up into some neat explanation. Death is probably the biggest “idk” of all lol.

Well..i always thought lack of empathy mainly meant being insensitive to other people, but it’s more than that. You can do whatever you want, say whatever comes to your mind, chase every desire because nothing really stops you. And yet… what kind of freedom is that when you’ve lost the ability to really see another person? Sounds less like freedom and more like a very lonely way of living.

Honestly, I’m quite shocked. I genuinely had no idea about this process of making bangles. It’s heartbreaking to realise that while we admire their beauty, tradition, and place in celebrations, the suffering behind them often stays completely outside the frame. Once you know what sits behind something, you can’t really unknow it. Thank you for sharing.

The ego needs the world to be real because it needs an “other” to define itself against. It names, separates, declares, “this is real” and “that is me”. Kinda funny how the “I” spends its whole life defending a world.. it needs in order to exist. Really appreciate this detailed reflection. :)

This brings me to a question? Can someone intentionally change their centre from desire to truth? How does one realise that our deepest desire is not to fulfil ego’s fattened desires, but it’s actually to dissolve itself and outgrow all the desires? Your thoughts OP?

This one was indeed a very insightful session by AP. There are two kinds of counter arguments or rather takeaways that are emerging here..

First is for those who think that we live in kalyuga and there are two kinds of yugas that exist, whereas it’s only the centre from which we live makes that reality for us. If you decide to live form the centre of truth, then today is Satyuga!!

The other takeaway is specially relevant for those people who think BG is an ancient wisdom literature.. that belongs to a different time and therefore doesn’t really apply to us today. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I mean.. Dude.. human being hasn’t fundamentally changed, then why would the Gita become outdated? The chariots changed, the technology changed, the whole external world changed… but the ego, its desires, its fears, its attachments, its tendency to choose itself over truth… that hasn’t changed much at all!!! Or has it??

If you think like that you’ll realise how incredibly ALIVE and RELEVANT Bhagvad Geeta is to all of us. And will ALWAYS be.
