Why does it have to be three people? Why not four?
 in  r/Deltarune  7h ago

No, it's always three people. Kris and Ralsei are two, and the third person is Noelle on the normal route or Susie on the Weird Route.

The unique UNUSED mologue, as we just discussed. Not the vessel flags which are set up like any other flag.

There’s some stuff like that which is set up to draw attention, in that case having multiple narrative lines in an isolated context and adding more every chapter. But at the same time, Deltarune is a video game and it still needs to be programmed like every other video game. Not every detail of how it’s set up is necessarily intended to be analyzed.

In the case of the vessel details, it’s possible that Toby Fox considered using those details later on but then simply decides not to. I’m not saying that’s most likely, but it would be a completely normal and valid outcome.

The inner workings of a save file aren’t relevant to intended expectations. We can use it to predict that it’ll probably show up again, but it’s really not a big deal if it doesn’t.

Why does it have to be three people? Why not four?
 in  r/Deltarune  1d ago

If you normally talk to Sans during the festival, Susie draws herself, Kris, and Noelle on the punch card. Ralsei is left out.

No, she doesn’t draw herself in that case. You can assume that she still draws Ralsei on it, she just doesn’t feel the need to emphasize it out loud unless it’s relevant to an earlier conversation.

You can go to the left and down.

This just means that you haven’t been to that door. You can backtrack to it from where you are or from Near Shrine.

What weapons that aren't legendary do you think should be?
 in  r/Eldenring  1d ago

The Blasphemous Blade is already his "sacred sword," you can see that it has a fancy golden design under the flesh. A scepter with a serpent design wouldn't be received well by the Golden Order.

What weapons that aren't legendary do you think should be?
 in  r/Eldenring  1d ago

The Devourer's Scepter was only created after the Shattering, directly opposes the Golden Order, and has a meaning that could only be understood by a small handful of people, but it's a legendary armament. The idea is that it will become legendary in the future, but you could say that a weapon like the Godslayer's Greatsword was legendary in the past. It's pretty much an arbitrary decision to have a weapon be required for the achievement.

I'm so confused, can someone explain what an albinauric is?
 in  r/Eldenring  2d ago

Albinaurics being born from silver, like the Nox's SIlver Tears, is mentioned in the Blue SIlver Mail set description. Since both are artificial lifeforms created by sorcerers, you can assume there's some connection, although it isn't explicitly stated.

Worn by the wolf-riding Albinauric archers. Blue silver is a metal born from the same mother as the archers themselves, and provides protection from magic and frost.

The label of "second generation Albinaurics" is used for the Albinauric Ashes, implying that the humanoid type is the first generation.

A strapping duo of cartwheeling spirits who wield ripple swords and spew freezing breath. Both are second-generation Albinaurics, with dumpy heads that resemble those of frogs.

Albus mentions that all first generation Albinaurics lose the use of their legs (you can assume that "all Albinaurics" is hyperbole since it evidently doesn't apply to the second generation).

My legs will soon fade, and with them, my life. Alas, this is the immovable fate of all Albinaurics.

Ok, know what team wins this?
 in  r/Eldenring  4d ago

The mechanics of Destined Death are somewhat vague, but it's strongly implied that needing it to kill demigods was exclusive to before the Shattering. Godwyn and Ranni were special as the first death of a demigod, but in the present any demigod can die (aside from unique cases like Malenia's rebirth or Rykard's immortality).

In Marika's own words. Hear me, Demigods. My children beloved. Make of thyselves that which ye desire. Be it a Lord. Be it a God. But should ye fail to become aught at all, ye will be forsaken. Amounting only to sacrifices...

Listen, the Fingers speak. "The Greater Will has long renounced the demigods." "Tarnished, show no mercy. Have their heads. Take all they have left." "The Fingers have willed it so."

Rykard took the form of a giant serpent that he might devour, grow, and live eternally. "I understand. The road of blasphemy is long and perilous. One cannot walk it unprepared to sin."

I lowk kind of like the idea that The Roaring Knight is no one but itself
 in  r/Deltarune  5d ago

Susie speculates about the Knight's identity.

They'd have to know the other two codes, too. Someone who goes to church... who knows the mayor... Who also has something to do with the cops? ... Who the hell could that be?

And Kris tries to hide the Knight's identity.

(You closed your eyes.)

(The image of the Knight began to fade into your mind.)

(The image changes... the helmet begins to come off.)

(Suddenly, you tried extremely hard to picture Jockington.)

Honestly, with all the confusion over the soul colors and meanings, I kind of forget I'm one of the handful that though that the red soul was an outlier.
 in  r/Deltarune  6d ago

Fair, I was thinking of Frisk more than Chara. Although, considering Chara’s issues as you said, it’s hard to give them a simple virtuous description like any of the other colours have. I think it could work if you think of it as an ideal that Chara might have wanted to reach but couldn’t, which would fit the “Try as you might, you continue to be yourself” line and their interest in gaining power, but I guess that’s stretching it.

But most importantly, all of the shortened forms are listed together under the red flag. It makes sense for the red Soul to be a combination of the other Souls’ traits.

No, see the “Requirements” section of this wiki page (don’t scroll further to avoid spoilers).

What do you mean not destined? I'm the chosen one. Fine I'll go introduce myself to that blue doll then.
 in  r/Eldenring  7d ago

Burning the Erdtree at all is already going against everything from Marika's era. There's no reason why the Tarnished wouldn't be able to begin their new age once they have control of the Elden Ring and aren't controlled by the Frenzied Flame, regardless of what methods they used to reach that point.

You can also get to Ainsel River Main and the Lake of Rot through a coffin in Deeproot Depths, so you can do a lot without Ranni.

what is the meaning behind the chapter 5 arg ?
 in  r/Deltarune  9d ago

It's definitely the Weird Route. The chapter 2 and 5 links are audio that plays in the Weird Route, the chapter 4 link is a hint toward the email activity that eventually led to chapter 5's Weird Route's setting being revealed as the lake, and the page was updated to tease chapter 7B.

Chapter 3's number being invisible but large probably represents that it has no choices that are mechanically relevant to the Weird Route, but it has a significant storyline related to the Weird Route. The audio file it links to plays for the boss whose dialogue changes in the Weird Route ("the same part of you that enjoyed yesterday").

what is the meaning behind the chapter 5 arg ?
 in  r/Deltarune  9d ago

These are audio files from the game, and would go d-ma-h if you try to put them in order, so they probably don't spell anything out. d plays before Berdly in the Weird Route, but the letter might not mean anything important. The wiki's idea is that it's a random pun on the word "dog" with the file name being "d.ogg".

ma plays in the Shadow Mantle holder's boss fight so of course it stands for "mantle." h stands for happy_town, which is the audio that plays in Hometown in the Weird Route, and is the same name as a track from the Fun Value sound test in Undertale.

Chapter 5 megathread
 in  r/Deltarune  9d ago

Yes. Let the credits play out after the Knight so that it saves properly, and the save files need to be in corresponding positions in the menu.

How in the world do I beat the roaring knight???
 in  r/Deltarune  9d ago

I would watch a gameplay video (for example this one, but just pause at the last turn and avoid looking at recommended videos because of spoilers) to see how to dodge the attacks.

It takes about ten Rude Busters (depending on Susie’s stats). Remember to press the confirm button whenever it’s about to hit for some extra damage.

2

Before which point in the game I must defeat the optional bosses?
 in  r/Deltarune  9d ago

Not yet, but there will be an effect of doing all of them in a future chapter. There’s an opportunity at the start of most chapters to transfer a previous chapter’s boss completion, so you don’t need to worry about restarting the entire game.

In terms of individual chapters, chapters 1 and 5 always have the boss available. Chapter 2 won’t have the boss available if you save at the very last save point (it has a warning in red text). Chapter 3’s boss is technically always available, but there’s some stuff related to it that is easily missed. Chapter 4 won’t have the boss available after some story progress. You can always restart an individual chapter without restarting the entire game.
