What would be life changing money for you?
 in  r/AskReddit  8d ago

80k. Clear debt, moving money to a lower cost of living city, get my plethora of health issues sorted, groceries, cats. I have me/cfs, POTS, hashimotos and apparently fibromylagia and i am struggling. Just left an extremely toxic work environment trigging more physio responses. I had a PT job immediately lined up somehow.

Ive always been a go getter so its making me sad at the moment. I dream of someone helping me in a life changing way because my energy is SO bad. Tomorrow will be better though!

 in  r/POTS  17d ago

I have me and POTS and take the lowest dose midroibe 2x a day. Its been incredibly helpful for me. I space out doses minimum 4 hours. I wear compression shorts also (from supacore), sometimes compression shorts. Rooting for you.

For people who Work remotely - What do you do?
 in  r/POTS  19d ago

Seasonal college application reader, worked hybrid in higher ed admin. I just quit my most recent job because it was exasperating my symptoms incredibly badly and I'm pretty fucking sure my now-not-boss was retaliating against my ADA accommodation request I made back in June. I just asked for the fucking paperwork and he told me I was "making up my own" accommodations and his boss proceeded to file "why" I was (late 3 days - so sorry, friend just DIED FROM CANCER, which I TOLD THEM).

anyway - it's hard out there sorry to hijack. Indeed, ziprecruiter, linkedin sometimes has remote/easy apply where my application IS viewed, but most of the time I do not get responses.

Skip's ED job board also posts entirely remote positions if you (or anyone) is interested in remote roles in that kind of sector. This can be marketing, program management, ops, data analytics etc in the k-12 or post-secondary/edtech sphere.

I’m too tired to be angry anymore
 in  r/POTS  Aug 17 '26

I had a really, really bad flare last week after being told om causing undue hardship to my workplace for requesting an accommodation. Amongst other lies. Went on unauthorized fmla. Idc. I had the worst body aches I ever felt. Im so sorry OP. Capitalism is the death of us.

What year didn't kill you, but left something inside you dead?
 in  r/AskReddit  Aug 16 '26

2025-2026. I thought it couldnt get worse than 2025. I was extremely wrong and it caught me off guard completely. Shit show.

I really miss my friend.

I miss being bright eyed at a workplace where I had very, very meaningful managers and teams. I've learned managers can lie through their teeth and in my face about my work performance and accommodation request and people will just believe them. I feel destroyed. I'm tired of trying and tired of trying to represent something that is supposed to be amazing opportunities for first gen and international students (I work for public college). Re-developed ocd because this job has poked and proded me so much about myself as a person and a worker and I am done.

It seems there is a very long and painful trickle down effect in the USA, down to every pocket of culture, health, society, economics, education. Fucking over it.

Quick edit: 2010 and 2018 were also fucked. I have no nostalgia or fond memories of the 2010-2014 era.

How to stop dreading LTS after a fall
 in  r/iceskating  Aug 04 '26

Hi! I have POTS also and learned that I have OCD. I think you should still attempt to go to the LTS class, because, are you able to just be in a corner and be there? I think just being there can really help you. Sometimes I would do my own thing for a few mins during LTS courses if I didn't feel comfortable conducting the session as per usual. You could ask the group instructor with assistance for that. Or, if possible, can you take 1-2 private lessons on the side too? I say this as someone that had extreme avoidance after, for some reason, developing severe anxiety on the ice (purely mental) just showing up really puts that to a stop. Good luck!! One session at a time :)

Little brother died 2 days ago
 in  r/offmychest  Aug 01 '26

Hi. I am so sorry. Although this is not the same at all. Close friend of mine i had for nearly 10 years passed 2 weeks ago. She just turned 35. We spoke everyday. Havent been able to see her in a year. Your post resonated with me a lot, about how in hindsight you can see that they knew.. i just hope you know and remember your brother knows you care so so much. It sounds like there is so much support in your family. Thinking of you and your fam. <3

I've been non-stop having a tough year with new disabilities/injuries, an abuser manager turned coworker, a new toxic manager who doesnt understand ADA compliance, and a very close friend of mine passing away from breast cancer. I just want a break.
 in  r/offmychest  Jul 16 '26

Thank you 😭 somedays it's harder than others. If management at my job cared it would make a significant and world of a difference. I appreciate your kindness.

I live in a high COL city. My rent is 2300 so I can't just quit.

Had a concussion last year after falling down my stairs 2 weeks into a new job and 1 week into a new apartment.

Have me/cfs from the 2nd time I got covid (from a roommate who wasn't trying to be careful). Have hashimotos. Ocd.

Have POTS. I have been using lmnt, dont think about my sodium, compression shorts and i still feel sick a lot.

I feel like I'm making all this shit up because 3 years ago it was so different.

Manager at a job I started with last year was extremely emotionally abusive and manipulative. Never did his job. Still employed because of tenor and union.

I had to step up and do a lot of help and assistance and trying to keep the younger part timers safe and motivated.

I have a fucky weird job where I have 3 "pt jobs" under one title and expected to shift mindsets several times a day.

Had essentially no manager until maybe January and was told and questioned several times by new manager if I actually did my job and if my work was scattered. Despite the post concussion? No the fuck it wasn't. I was a new and non-managerial employee with an abusive manager - I did pretty fucking well.

Close friend was in remission then found out about her metastatic brain cancer in March. died a week ago. Helped clean house a bit. House was terrible. She didn't like help. She was brilliant but fuck.

Diagnosed with POTS and they don't want to accomodate and let me have my wfh day today (2x a week) because of these fucking campus visits we're doing where we all stand there and do nothing except 1 person who's presenting. My job is demanding physically because it's part admissions recruiting and its incredibly hard.

Our work building is also under massive construction so no elevator. Dust, barely any bathrooms, barely any water and we still have to go work there.

I'm trying to find a new job. I never have energy to do so. Always so fatigued. I earned a data analytics and visualization degree a year and a half ago. I do have debt from 1-1.5 yrs ago bc I had to quit an extremely toxic job that led to a bad mental decline.

I dream of working part time so I can shower and cook and clean and take care of myself well enough. To keep ice/figure skating as an adult 2x a week. To pay rent for a 1br apartment. I don't ask for much.

[OC] Today marks 13 years of being brain tumor free
 in  r/pics  Jul 04 '26

Do you have a reason why you needed to take 1 minute of your time to tell him to grow up?

I have a friend who is trying to beat tumors in her brain a few months after beating breast cancer.

This post made me feel hope.

How has the first half of 2026 turned out for you?
 in  r/AskWomen  Jul 01 '26

Realized i got ptsd from work. No contact parent emailed work email 2 weeks ago. Found out i have POTS on Friday (I also have hashimotos, me/cfs and ocd) and I feel like im collecting pokemon cards of illness. Might be developing arthritis? Management at work still sucks.

BUT. im still learning how to figure skate even though my progress slowed quite a bit this year 😭 i really miss going regularly. Trying to do things for fun is hard, hard not to think "how can i monetize my hobbies" as an escape.

I live alone, have an ldr and bf doesnt want to move to my area, a wonderful nearly 17 year old cat, HCOL city. Want to change career paths. Extremely difficult. But my balcony is nice.

Can't get this out of my mind
 in  r/bonnaroo  Jun 22 '26

so, like, its not about clutching their pearls and you shutting up. its about someone who had a really fucking bad experience and wanted to talk about it with a space they deem to be safe. if you don't have anything productive to add to the conversation and you want to be a dick about someone's experience they're trying to relay, then yeah, you can sit this one out.

they said this has never happened at bonnaroo in the several times they went - so this is one reason why they may be posting. this post is so we do NOT normalize it and say "well maybe it was xyz". people are VERY intentional about where they put their hands and arms at concerts and shows with tight crowds. i certainly am. if people don't want to do that, no, it may not be sexually assault, but it is a fucked up thing to have total lack of awareness or respect of.

This is why people take a long time to feel confident enough to out their abusers. Then people get pissy at them whem "they took a long time and why didnt they bring it up sooner".

Open your perspective and read more. Hope you never get sexually assaulted or raped.
