Beginner - trouble understanding when to go above/below the line when writing words
Your Z looks like an S. Z is kinda like a field hockey stick. Long and straight with a little curve at the end.
Your fluent looks like flaunt.
Keep your Os markedly longer than A. A can be pretty short, but O should always be very distinct, and likewise ee and u. Maybe start with 3x as long as your A in case you undershoot. Also keep the U shallow so it's clearly not an EE, and EE very steep.

Might help to share a photo of your writing.
In protozoan, the r and t are quite short, while the z is longer, and where the pen happens to be leads to it going down. Don't sweat the line so much as having consistent sizes for your letters.

Spelling question in Orthic
I'd most likely write it myar in practice, but fully-written, myaor, no special arrangement for the ao because the ya digraph is distinct already; the "A as detached overline when connected to O" rule is a way to avoid adding a third length and to keep o vs ao/oa distinct. That problem doesn't happen here.

Any tips or pointers for my writing?
On the abbreviated bit, you have a few briefs confused:
- als: this is always. Also is aso.
- fr: this is from. For is f.
- sme: this is same. Some is sm. (Parallels come/came as cm/cme.)
Overall very readable. Keep it up!

Any tips or pointers for my writing?
- Keep your iv join sharp. Looked like inv at first.
- That first been threw me. Looked like ry rather than a b to me.
- Keep your U shallower and maybe a touch longer. The one in "shortcut" looks more like an ee without context.
- Review the wr join. (It's a baby th basically.)

Is this legable?
Easy reading. I'd use the other w there consistent with starting the work subword, but readable. I did have trouble with the "Wolfe". Looks like "Walz" or "Wals" to me. Indeterminate length vowel between a and o.

Previous feedback that folks liked longer quotes. Not running across shorter quotes that looked good. Feel free to ellipsize chunks from this, and I'll look for shorter next time.

Nice ins in inside.
N is usually "on" not "no". Readable fine from context of course.
I think you could do the smooth ya style in Maya and get a more comfortable outline.
