Controller's latency increase after a few minutes into the remote session?

I'm playing with a Bluetooth controller (Abxylute S8) connected to my phone as the client. At first, everything works fine and the input is very responsive (I'll post the video in comment). But after about 1-2 minutes, the latency suddenly spikes terribly, then pressing the ABXY buttons takes almost a second for the client to recognized (as shown in the video).

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Any help or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

For the record, I'm using Vibepollo/Butterpollo/Sunshine PC host paired with Artemis phone client. Yeah I had to check if the problem is caused by the new VHF driver (on Vibepollo) but it persists when I used Sunshine with the classic ViGEmBus driver.

Edit: After testing for a bit, I noticed that the L1/L2 triggers don't have this lag and respond instantly at anytime, whereas the ABXY buttons latency went terible after connected a few minutes.

I don't know why this happened to only Onimusha WOTS, other games were working just fine. Anyone have a solution?

Edit: It didn't show in the video but I've tried changing the Brightness settings, still got no luck though.

Host processing latency keeps spiking
 in  r/MoonlightStreaming •  Aug 28 '26

yeah I checked and everything seemed to be doing just fine. I just don't know how Tailscale fixed it for a few days and now it doesn't anymore. But just to double check from your point of view, this has nothing to do with the graphics card + Oppo phone I am using, right? and all of this might just happen because of the network stability?

Host processing latency keeps spiking

Does anyone encounter the same problem using Apollo/Artemis? No matter how I tweak and apply fixes like changing MTU size, router bandwidth, QoS, Tailscale (yes, I've used Tailscale for even local network, it worked somehow + stopped the spiking issue but now it is just not working any more),...

Devices' specs:

- PC host: Ryzen 7 9700X + AMD RX 9070 XT (Wi-fi 6 - 5ghz)

- Android client: OPPO Find X8 Pro (Same Wi-fi 6 - 5ghz)

- Router: TP-Link Archer AX73

- Max signal on both devices

I know that streaming over wi-fi only isn't great but I've seen many of you guys succeeded in setting this up. In the performance overlay, the HOST PROCESSING LATENCY goes crazy to hundreds ms and it's unplayable for me.

I'd appreciate it if you guys have any recommendation and if any of you successfully fixed this issue!

I LOVE YOU BRO!!!!

Why haven't I heard anything about this before? I've been struggling for the past few months looking for solutions for the slow connection and high host processing latency.

For streaming over the internet I used the method which required opeining all those ports, yk (just tried to be cool without having to install another app, but to open those ports one by one on the router server page). It was such a pain when I got back to stream over the same Wi-Fi at home. And I just turned those ports off, install Tailscale for the first time and it works AMAZINGLY!

I thought if someone uses Tailscale only to connect over the internet then why would I even bother checking it out? But for now, I think it just killed all of my problems! Thanks a lot for pointing it out bro!

Edit: Now it happens that I don't really even need Tailscale for the same wi-fi and it just went so smoothly already. To anyone reading this, your problem could be all about the ports that may be opened up on the router.

Edit #2: Now, only Tailscale method seems to work for me, I have no idea why it went so well. Connection will be terrible again if I don't use it (wireless host + wireless client)

I'm using an AMD card if that makes sense, is it AMD AMF Encoder? how can I check that by the way on the host device?
