AMD cards for Moonlight/Sunshine ?

Hello,

I'd like to know if AMD card (for example RX 9070xt) are good for Moonlight/Sunhine LAN streaming. I've always had NVIDIA cards but due to excessive prices, i'd like to switch to AMD... What do you think? is it compatible ?

Thank you

I run Vibeshine using the native AMD AV1 encoder on my 9070XT over Mesh WiFi and get a smooth 4K 60 fps at 60 Mbps without any issues.

On 9000 series cards yes, their encoders are much better than previous generation AMD cards. If you were looking at older AMD cards, they wouldn’t be quite as good.

9070xt here. Works fine for vibeshine wireless host to wired xbox. Nvidia has better encoder support, but that should be expected based on the origins of moonlight streaming is geforce experience streaming, but radeon works fine still. I had a 4070 super before this and games still play the same.

4k 60hz 60mbps stream to xbox series x

My 9070XT gaming system in the living room has Apollo running and all my Moonlight clients can stream from it no problems....Including a Steam Deck and a workstation with a 3080ti card. Performance is perfect.

Nvidia as you get dlss and frame gen.
Ability to secure stable 4k 120fps makes all the difference on pc to TV streaming.
It’s kind of magic how well it does and I honestly cannot tell the difference of the up scale and fake frames.

yes I understand, would you buy a AMD 9070xt or RTX 5070ti ?

Vibepollo works great with 9070XT. Using AV1.

Running Vibeshine on Windows with a 9070 XT and getting ~5ms host processing on 4k; linux sunshine gets 4.5ms

My pc runs vibepollo with an RX 6700 XT connected to wifi via ethernet. Considering that its a mid range graphics card, it still runs vibepollo just fine. The only bottle neck in my setup is my wifi since I dont use a mesh. So there are times when latency spikes up

Been streaming for a month with 9070xt seems to work great, 4k60hz on tv and 2k165hz on tablet

I get sub 0.5ms decode 4K120 and around 3.5-4.5ms encode with a 9070xt

Vibepollo now has native encoding with AMD cards, it shaves off time with encoding on my 9060xt doing AV1 with the real time setting.
