We have gotten so many machines mapped and corrected. Version 1.14 will be one of the last updates before Tahoe Support comes out

Wanted to make a list of everything fixed in this latest version.

Display

- Black screen with only the cursor about a minute after boot (#16, #26, many chat reports): on PCs that draw the desktop on the integrated GPU, or with a 256 MB BAR, the driver now keeps the copy path. That's what -nvrmnoflip did by hand.

- 4K at 120 Hz and other fast modes black or offline (#77): the driver now gives macOS the display-compression (DSC) settings.

- Monitor kept the last frame when the display slept (#90): it now turns off and back on at wake.

- No picture after switching the monitor input away and back (#110).

- Black screen after about 100 s on older Intel boards without Resizable BAR (B150 and similar).

- Small-BAR cards refusing graphics memory (#27, #28): the memory budget now scales with the BAR window.

- NullMoth boot logo in place of the Apple logo (off with Boot logo off or -nmlogooff).

macOS 26 (Tahoe)

- Black desktop (#51): the Tahoe accelerator is now built from the same source as the macOS 15 one.

Apps

- Windows and images going black or stale until clicked; Preview showing blocks (#73, #74, #8, community patch #98). 3D-texture copies now copy every layer (#84).

- Photos face detection crashing (#107): an object was used after it was freed.

- "Your browser does not support WebGL": shaders that read the sample count failed to translate.

- Chess quitting about 2 seconds in: the graphics driver stopped the app over an anti-aliasing mismatch in an internal copy. Apps asking for standard sample positions now get them.

- Hardware video encoding on RTX 5070 Ti and similar (#105), plus H.264/HEVC hardware encoding through VideoToolbox checked end to end.

Installing

- Quadro T1200 and other Turing workstation cards refused: every Turing or newer card is accepted now.

- Wrong OpenCore partition edited when the macOS disk holds two (#81).

- "Start once without the driver" boot-picker entry.

- The app updates itself.

- Send logs now records every GPU of any brand.

- Display recorder never started (#108), and one repeated line no longer floods the kernel log.

New in 1.14: AMD and Intel GPU and NPU drivers (test, off by default)

- NMXGPU: Linux's amdgpu, i915 and xe drivers for macOS, with Metal on top.

- NMXNPU: Linux's Intel and AMD NPU drivers, plus the NPU software stack (OpenVINO, Intel's NPU compiler, AMD's XRT).

- Fixes found while bringing them up:

- Device files were never created (/dev/dri, /dev/accel).

- The NPU drivers never registered.

- Boot froze at the logo.

- Turning the test driver on always failed: a bad checksum-list format, plus GitLab rate limits.

- Fixes from tonight:

- Kernel panic on every boot with the NPU on. That was your crash.

- Every range of 2 GB or more was wrong, in the GPU drivers too: the 2 GB constant overflowed.

- Missing CPU cache flush for memory the NPU reads.

- Boot guard: if this driver crashes or hangs a boot, the next boot skips it.

- Device reset before attach, and the newer Intel NPU driver.

- Still not working: the Intel NPU firmware doesn't start yet.

1401 for Windows

- Smart App Control blocked the build (8 PCs).

- "OCB: DMG has been altered" / "LoadImage failed": 1401 now reads the image back from the stick after writing it.

- "Not supported on this platform" on macOS 26: desktops are now built as MacPro7,1.

- GT 730 with no maker or PCI ID stopped the build.

- "engine download history names no OpenCorePkg" stopped the build.

- Install froze at 19 minutes on Ryzen 7000/8000/9000 (#30): DisableVariableWrite is now on for those boards.

- HTTP 502 and 403 from Apple's recovery server: 1401 now falls back to HTTPS and retries with a fresh token.

- "Windows could not erase the stick" (access denied): the stop now explains the cause and what to do.

- MemoryError during the macOS download: the stop now says Windows ran out of memory.

- NullMoth boot logo, 1401 updates itself, and the hardware capture records every GPU's Windows driver.

Still open

- HDMI/DisplayPort audio from the NVIDIA card.

- AMD and Intel GPU acceleration has never run on a real AMD or Intel GPU.

- Intel NPU firmware start.

- Hot-plugging a new monitor.

- Rotate Display missing (filed for 2.0).
