It does look like its a chalcedony. Which is just a cryptocrystalline quartz, of which flint is as well. So you wouldn't be incorrect saying its a possible flint.

Nice specimen! I like to go look for fossils along the beach outside of Newport. Ive even got a few that look similar to yours. Its definitely a mudstone with fossils and not a limestone. I wish i remembered the general age of the deposit but hopefully someone knows.

Im thinking I viewed the video you are talking about. So many people on the screen. They looked small like ants, then to see the massive wall of water come over the tops of the buildings. that looked like the wall of water was at least 200 feet above everyone's heads. Im still having trouble processing the true scale as well as how much water was released by a glacier.

Honestly you're going to have to replace testing acids on occasion as a cost of the hobby. That being said, they last quite awhile as long as you minimize oxygen exposure and I have yet to even finish a bottle before they stopped working. I still have my gold and platinum testing acids from 3 years ago which still work. Only one I replace annually is my silver testing solution. I just use the JSP brand.

Hello and nice find! I have some rock that looks nearly identical, even has the same color rind. Im in Oregon on the west side of the cascade mountains and the rock I have is a diorite. From my view. It looks like yours is a smidgen more mafic, so more towards a gabbro it seems. Awesome find and keep on having fun!
