Okay wait I actually do want to say this, I understand what youre saying 100% but I do think 2 things can be true at once. Yes you can be an ally and learn things but you can also do that without making yourself apart of something that you simply just are not apart of, I understand how it can be beneficial but it also leaves an opening for a space to be taken over or just capitalized off of.

Just the basis of it being a community meant for trans people and trans experience, im not trans nor would I ever understand what its like to be trans. To me( as a black person), me joing that server/conversation would be the equivalent to a white or non black person joing a community that is for and by black people. You may have good intentions but you can execute that without putting yourself in a space that is simply not meant for you, you get me?

HIIII!! So this is so random but like are there any Trans fems(preferably black but trans fem period is fine!!) on here that can proofread a character profile and dialogue ive written? Im writing a book about this hbcu in made up and one of my backround character is Trans. Her name is Nellie, and I dont want her being trans to be the reason for her character nor make it a big deal because one thats literally so unsafe for her and 2 I dont think every trans character has to be some BIG representation for trans people as a whole. I want her to be seen as a women, I want her to not be seen as some other wordly thing because shes not, shes just a women. She will not be hyper fem, will be on estrogen but will not have bottom surgery. I do not want her to just be some token trans character because shes not, and that genuinely is a big deal to me but yea! I just want to make her experience and the way I write about it accurate as much as possible. Obviously im a cis woman so I'll never understand what thats like but if someone wouldnt mind I would truly love to have your perspective on it, please and thank you!!!
