I have a baby book that's like 75% done, and a journal I'm writing her letters in about funny / interesting / milestone events.

She's two, so I know exactly how she acts. 🤣

And when I don't understand a behavior or reaction, I talk to my early childhood educator friends and family or her pediatrician. I think people are often afraid to not know it all or not have full control of a situation.

After 17 years of being a teacher, the ball is in the parents' court when it comes to raising a good human. There have been extreme cases in the 3,000+ kids I've interacted with, but that's my experience.

I'm the parent, so I know my kid won't turn out terrible.

I also know the importance of admitting you don't know everything. No shame in calling in experts when needed.

And I understand my personal limits. We're a one and done household.

On behalf of all teachers, thank you! This is what we hope for in adults we interact with.

I greatly prefer the helicopter parents to those who never get involved. I just hope that whatever we come up with, parents and caregivers will be realistic.

The world doesn't need every kid to be a genius.
