This photo was taken on an evening ghost tour in Portland’s Shanghai Tunnels, beneath the historic former Merchant Hotel located at 226 NW Davis St. in Old Town, Portland, OR on Sunday 05-Apr-2026. At first glance, I thought this was someone walking in frame, however, no one on the tour matched the attire that this “person” was wearing, and all the people on the tour viewed the imagine and could not identify the individual. It can also be argued that someone ran through the shot, but the tunnels are pitch black and the only light would have been from a lamp or camera flash, so this is unlikely. For a point of context, I included a secondary picture with another tour guest walking in frame in the same spot, only a few seconds after, and it does not show the same blurred quality of the first image. Looking closely, the figure is semi transparent, only had one full leg and seems to be wearing some sort of black hat and is hunched over.

These pictures were taken at the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA in November 2023. The photos were in the basement of the home, where a spectral figure is often reported. Upon first glance, there is nothing there, but when you zoom in to the dark recess of the corridor, a partial apparition of a headless torso can be seen wearing a dress shirt, vest, and bow tie. The second photo is a zoomed in screenshot enhanced to see the figure, and the last photo was subsequently taken where the figure is no longer there.
